mybyc interesting you say that. My girl was concieved around halloween day and early Nov. I also had a girl in highschool (I usually don't mention.), who is with a loving adoptive family within our family, who also was concieved the same time around Halloween day and early November. Maybe it is everyone filling up on empty calories from the Halloween candy thats producing the girls? lol My boys were concieved in Dec, Feb/march?, and July. My SIL was due the same time as my ds3 and she had a girl and I would of had a boy. Weird though that it does seem that the Oct/Nov months hold true for me for a girl.

Yes I was a grazer! Always was. I have three boys (and an angel boy). I have finally gotten used to the LE diet methods. The "intermittent fasting" has helped my body to shed fat (weight) as well. I was reading about it on mercola.com. the thing is, I still eat healthy foods and less processed foods. My attempt is hopefully in about two weeks...of course dh will be out of town when I O. But I was thinking we should attempt just before he leaves which is 5 days before O if that is when I end up actually oing. I should write a separate post on that because I need to get some method info...Zyrtec or no, etc...

Eating all day
Michelle Dugger had all her boys first- she was young and fertile. Girls next- older and not as fertile? I've seen the episodes where she is exercising on a x trainer. Perhaps an unintentional swayer?

To the best of my knowledge after 7 years of research, men make 50-50 X and Y sperm. NOT 60-40. It is biologically impossible for that to happen because the way sperm is made is that XY cells split to make half X and half Y and that makes 50-50. If you have some link that says different I would like to read it. They have done tons of studies, I've read tons of studies, and yes, on occasion one comes out a little wonky (like more like 51-49) and it's thought to be because of the same reason if you took a handful of red and green m and m's they would not come out precisely 50-50 every time. There is not some magical sperm-counting machine that can precisely count numbers of X and Y in a load of semen, they have to use complex procedures to separate the sperm and then some poor lab tech has to take a sample and then count that sample, one, two three and so it is totally possible that just from random chance there is more X or Y in one sample than another.
The Duggars DO have relatively equal numbers of boys and girls but if you look at the order they were born, they have a long run of boys and a long run of girls in that. The Duggars PROVE swaying works, not that it doesn't. Something in her body, environment, or both, changed betwen when she had the boys and then the girls at the end. If we all wanted to pop out 20 kids every single one of us would have both boys and girls in there somewhere, check these people out The Arndt Family The reason why we sway is that most of us would prefer not to do that and so we want to up the odds that our girl or boy will come along in a reasonable number of kids instead of having to wait around for our bodies to do it naturally and have 13 boys like the Arndt's did, to get one girl.
Re Africa - you realize there are over 1 billion people in Africa, right? Even in times of severe famine only a fraction of people are affected by it. ANd actually, the gender ratio in most African nations IS skewed towards more females than males conceived, instead of 105/106 boys for every 100 girls, most African countries have more like 102 girls for every 100 boys. May not seem like much but it's a huge difference. Boys are still conceived in times of famine, no doubt, and a study was done on gender ratio in African famine victims found that the moms who had boys had more muscle mass than those who had girls.
You seem to want swaying to be some sort of guarantee of gender. But it isn't, it never will be, and if you are disappointed that it isn't, you need to go HT instead. We are going from 70-75% range for blue, to 60-65% for pink - meaning that we are altering the gender ratio significantly by a few easy to make changes in diet and lifestyle and that some of us with all boys who may be coming in to TTC with a 70-75% chance or MORE, of having another boy, end up 60-65% likely to have a girl. That is HUGE and we've been keeping at that rate or better for 2 1/2 years now meaning it's not a quirk of stats, it's actually happening and it's sustainable. If you do exercise and one attempt, the odds of pink are even higher. You can call that a little change or random chance but in terms of science, this is a super big deal we've got going on here.
Personally, when I came into swaying after having 3 boys over 17 years, I knew in my gut my odds were not 50-50. My thinking was, "i'll sway to GET to 50-50 and then I'll take the coin flip at that point". Honestly, I'd be happy if we were getting 50-50 for pink because most of us with all boys ain't coming in with a 50-50 chance at a girl (and take another look at the Arndt family if you don't believe that and it's also been demonstrated scientifically that the odds of a 3rd or 4th boy after having had two, are more like 60-40). I would have been satisfied with 50-50 shot at pink in our stats and that we are getting better than 50-50, is phenominal.Last edited by atomic sagebrush; August 27th, 2014 at 12:08 PM.

Please understand that in the world of studying gender ratio, because men make 50-50 sperm, anything that alters the gender ratio even a tiny amount, provided that it stays consistent over time, is a major discovery. It doesn't mean that any of it is a magic bullet, and even in the boy/girl months there wer still tons of opposites conceived in those months. We are just looking for things that may help up the odds a little bit.

Studies that are done by doctors and researchers that involve tens of thousands of people outweigh anyone's personal observations.
Also, everyone please keep in mind that people in other countries do not celebrate the same holidays in the same ways that we do in our own countries. WE have people on this site from around the world and everyone has their own unique customs and holidays that don't necessarily mesh with ours.!!!
