Jana- Aww yeah, I would definitely want to get her surgery sorted out while not being pregnant. We would probably TTC some time after January as well!
*2009*
*2012* hoping to add a BOY.

Absolutely. I don't have time to write out too many details but as I have gotten to know my mom better she was clearly living HE when she conceived my brothers & painfully obvious LE when she conceived my sister & I. She also had 2 oops babies....both girls!
Atomic's theories are sound & solid when I look at my mom & myself with my 3 girls.

I'm so grateful to you Adia! I'm gradually calming down about all this. Having a scan on wednesday to see why I'm not ovulating - in faint hopes I can do without clomid. But if it must be with clomid, then so be it!

I am currently trying clomid. I really want a boy but after almost 2 years of trying, 2 miscarriages, and turning 40 next year, I have to get this to work ASAP!
I tried clomid last year 100mg day 5-9 but it made me completely insane, no joke. I was seeing a doctor for infertility & she monitored me. However, my insurance only will cover TESTING, not TREATMENT. So this time I am trying 25mg day 5-9 on my own and just being careful. When my mom had babies in the 1970's and 1980's she monitored herself.
While using clomid I am still doing the HE & Atomic had some great suggestions for me while using clomid and HE together.
If I don't get a BFP this cycle, (and its really hard to tell early on because clomid s/e are miserable in the 2ww), then I will try one more round and then try Femara...if I can figure out where to get it. I think I found a pharmacy in New Zealand.
Anywho, don't think you are doomed if you use clomid. Nothing in baby making is completely one way or the other.
Good luck!

Wow Adia - we're in similar boats! I'm about to turn 39 so I feel like I can't hang around either. I've been prescribed progesterone for 10 days, followed by clomid 100 for days 2-6. I'm sorry to hear it made you insane?! What happened? You mean hormonal mood fluctuation? I'm interested to hear it can be taken in different doses. You're trying 25? I wonder if I could do that too - rather than 100. Hmmm.
I really wish you a huge amount of luck. Despite feeling and looking young, we're geriatric mama's and we need a little extra luck. Rooting for you.
Re not testing, I think the really important test is the scan right after you stop the clomid - so they can check egg quality/quantity and uterus thickness. If you could just have that one alone I bet it would be worthwhile.
About to blow anther small fortune on a scan over here, so I know how it feels.
Yes, you can definitely offset the pink effects of clomid from what atomic says - I also learnt this. Preseed+robi/muci seems to be the key. I'm also using ovestin cream because I've had low estrogen.

Thanks tm29. I need all the luck I can get.
You may already know this but the hardest part of taking clomid is the 2ww when the effects of the clomid kick in. When I tried 100mg for 5 days my rational thinking, mood, gi tract, etc were a mess. I am normally very easy going and sweet, but I was a b*tch! I am feeling the effects of 25mg now and its no picnic, but I am not having insane and bizarre thoughts and drastic mood swings like I was on 100mg. Reality is every medication affects everyone differently.
Keep us posted on your journey!

Everything you're telling me about clomid is news to me - I have no clue what it's like. Sounds - er - terrific so far! I'm having my scan tomorrow to make sure I really do need it...

Praying you don't need it, but if you do, consider a smaller dose than 100mg, maybe even 75.
I think 100mg is just brutal, but I am extremely sensitive to all meds.
