Lowering Sperm Count Query

Hi All,

What would you advise for me on my ttc pink sway on method to lower sperm count.

1. Hubby will have abstained for 3 weeks before planned BD OR
2. Have him release and do under 24hrs

I am 35 and he is 36?

What do you think is best? I am open to all suggestions/options.

3 weeks is WAY too long! I wouldn't use those swimmers for your attempt. The newer advice on here is bd every 4 days after AF leaves town, and an additional attempt at +OPK if you feel good about it.

I thought higher sperm count sways blue (2-6 days)?

There are so many other factors at play...but the current thinking is higher fertility = blue and lower fertility = pink. Best results we are seeing for pink are bd every 4 days. Are you doing diet/exercise?

I work full-time and have 2 small children and I am just exhausted... I also have had 2 m/c back to back and so I was not feeling in the mood for running.

I am taking calcium and cranberry too.

I am supposed to O in 3-4 days so I think its too late to exercise and I want to attempt anyway.

Any thing you would advise?

No man should ever abstain longer than 3 weeks and I don't recommend abstain for men over 35.

Frequency has really not been getting great results for us and I don't think it's worth the trouble of doing it for most people.

In that case, I'd have him release once, dump it, then DTD again as quick as he's able to. This is the "hurry up FR" I describe in the essay I linked to.

Whoops! Had sex last night

I thought with the low sperm count and plus no sign of O, it would be okay and then will DTD in 4 days time?

No that is FINE! That is my preference, I am just describing what you might do if you really really wanted to include frequency. I do not think frequency is working and I prefer that everyone drop it, but it is your sway, your way. I still try to help people even when they use other methods I don't necessarily agree with.

If you could choose between 1BD every 4 days or BD after a release 1hr prior, which would you pick?
