Questions about my weight... what would you do please?

    Hello

I am about 6 weeks away from our first attempt. I have very irregular cycles and am not exactly sure when I will ovulate in Sept.

I have been on the LE diet for several weeks now and have lost 8 lbs. I am 5'4" and now weigh 108.

Should I cheat on the diet to gain a little weight back or just try my best to maintain this weight? I do not want to hurt all the work I have done so far with the diet but I also keep losing more weight and am nervous that I still have 6 weeks to go now.

    What would you do?

    Thank you for any help!!

Hi, I have heard that is best to just maintain your weight and not to gain a little to lose it again because when you gain it your body might start to think that times are better, and they're not

HTH! and good luck in your attempt!!!

I'm much the same as you - I'm the same weight as you although 4'11", but don't feel I have that much to lose. I calculated I can lose up to a stone before I hit the "underweight" category... but seeing as I'll be doing the diet for 3 months before TTC (starting it in Sept) I think I could easily have lost the weight (or most of it) before TTC starts and have not much else to lose... For the last few years (before pregnancy) my weight has been very stable at 103lbs so I'm not that much heavier now than I was before pregnancy, but my lowest weight has been 98-99lbs in the last 5 years following a severe vomiting illness so I guess that's my target weight.

I've always had irregular cycles too, more so now I'm still BF, but trying to take vit b6 and peppermint tea to help regulate things and I'll take vitex when I start BF less

Thank you so much for you post rainbowflower! I do think I have a couple more pounds before I hit my lowest weight. I hope to lose those right before my attempt.

Sounds like you have a good plan all set for your irregular cycles!!

lets just hope TTC doesn't take too long for either of us! I remember reading somewhere that weight should naturally plateau once you reach your lowest weight too

MOST people will plateau at some point, but if anyone finds they are continuing to lose weight by all means EAT more! Just try to stick to the larger overall goals of the Low Everything diet - low protein in particular. If you need more calories, try to get them via carbohydrates. Even something as simple as drinking a soda pop with every meal can make a big difference - if you eat 2 or 3 meals a day you can get an additional 450 cals just from drinking 3 cans of pop.

It is best to hold steady at your weight rather than regaining for the reasons that mis2ninos mentioned.

Great advice from everyone as always! Thanks so much everyone!!
