Update Is it worth trying to sway if I can't even STAY pregnant?

After a year break, I'm back. There's been a few more early mcs this year...which begs the above question. At this point I know I have vitamin and mineral deficiencies that can cause mcs so I'm just going to hammer those pills down in hopes for ANY sticky bean. You can't get a girl if you don't have anything right?

So zinc, b12, b6, vit e, vit c, and the whole gamut. Considering I'm so unhealthy I can't even stay pregnant, I must still have better than 50% odds of a girl right? After 3 boys and only 1 girl it's a scary prospect. 5 kids--this is the last chance baby. I'm also 38 now.

Any thoughts dear ladies? I have my custom sway from a year ago ready to go on it but I feel without the supps it will never happen at all!

    What would you do?

    TIA!!!!

Lots of people with vitamin deficiencies carry babies. If you have had several miscarriages, I would see a doctor before you attempt again.

The other thing we see in HT that it could possibly be is some sort of immunity issue. It's still a relatively new field but there are things we are finding affect implantation or lead to early losses in previously fertile women.

If you are done with the testing portion of the program, I would try to just be healthy and everything in moderation. Swaying will have to take a back seat. I am sure there are things you can do and you have a personalized plan to go buy too.

Personally, I don't think vitamin etc deficiencies are preventing your pregnancies from sticking - I think it is most likely your age or possibly another factor, such as an immune issue as NBP suggested. At 38, most of your eggs are going to be bad, so it's a numbers gsme - just keep trying until you catch that golden egg. I would NOT start taking any nutrient supplements unless you have bloodwork done revealing actual deficits. Most likely you are fine, and taking all those supplements, most of which we KNOW sway blue, is very unlikely to increase your chances of a THB. Instead you'll just increase your odds of conceiving a boy whenever you catch the a good egg.

How about trying clomid or femara? Clomid especially may help produce more eggs, giving you a better chance of one being good. Plus they both sway pink! I know you've has meficated cycles before but can't remember the details beyond a trigger shot...

I'm SO sorry you've had so many miscarriages this year, I didn't realise that at all. I can only imagine how hard that's been on you and completely understand your desperation to try anything. Is HT an option at all?

currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

I had 4 msc's in a row i understand how you feel. All my testing was normal too. My ob suggested baby aspirin if i got pregnant again which i did, and my boy just turned one I am not suggesting you should take it, just something you could possibly discuss with your Dr. Good luck!!

Is it worth trying to sway if I can't even STAY pregnant?

My testing is "normal, but I've had hypothyroidism for nearly 3 decades and, based on an expert in the field's cut offs (rather than the currently used lab values) also B12 deficiency.

Hypo is known for causing miscarriages, & I had many. Have you had your Free T3, Free T4 & thyroid antibodies checked? What were the lab cut off values & your actual numbers? TSH is a joke for hypothyroidism and the cut-offs some places make it even more ridiculous.

My advice is to take a balanced prenatal instead of those vitamins on their own. Most of the time, the separate pills contain megadoses which may end up being worse than nothing. I would take it daily and TTC when you're ready.

I cannot and will not speak to your individual odds of having a baby of a certain gender. There is no way for me or anyone to know that. We don't know how it works and there are some health issues that seem to be capable of causing ill health and miscarriage yet still end up leading to more boys conceived. (mostly autoimmune, but also PCO and some thyroid stuff).

So, my main advice is to not go overboard and start taking gobs of stuff because I see so many people do this and it's like throwing gasoline onto a fire. I would have you also go gluten free as I have seen several people have success after several miscarriages by ditching gluten.

Can you give me a brief recap of everything you've been tested for??? Clotting issues?

Have you had your thyroid checked by a doctor who CARES? I had several doctors say "oh, its fine". I tried Synthroid only to have another miscarriage with that and then not be able to conceive for another year.

Then I went to a doctor that specialized in treating the causes of problems and started a natural thyroid supplement, I got prego 3 weeks after starting the supplements.

Their are alternative medicine doctors out there who are trained and licensed MD's that will look at things differently. I have had 3 kids over the past 15 years and 2 miscarriages in my 24months of TTC. Until I found a doctor who took a different approach I couldn't hang on to a baby either.

Best of luck, I know how heartbreaking this is ESPECIALLY after having several healthy pregnancies.

Oh and in terms of swaying, above all else, stick with one attempt in fertile window. We have gotten good results with that and it is safe and cannot up odds of miscarriage!!
