No+12 I like it! However I thought it was a good sway? I know timing is not a reliable sway ( I have 2 boys from 2-3 day cutoff) but I really wanted to do as much opposite things as I can from what I did with my boys. (Wish I had found this site before reading everything from the IG site!) If not 0+12 what should the girls like myself who were thinking of going this way do instead?

Just BD once when you get a positive OPK, that should end up being the day before O most times. But any less than 24 hours before O has low odds of conception. You didn't get your boys bc of a cut off, but despite it, due to diet/lifestyle factors.

    My Ovulation Chart
currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Definitely planning to BD on the day of a positive OPK! That may be all we have going for us at this point, although I'm trying to stick to the diet! Of course, that is just for this month, if we don't get our BFP I'll introduce the other sway components and carry on from there.

No, it's not a good sway and you cannot base anything off the reported results because unless a person had an ultrasound that pinpointed the time of their ovulation, their results are USELESS. They don't know when they ovulated and this is 100% proven to be impossible by the best scientific data available.

There is absolutely completely and totally NO WAY for anyone to pinpoint ovulation to the hour and thus all reported statistics on O+12 are useless because the people have no clue when they actually ovualted.

The ONLY reason why O+12 APPEARS in stats to look effective is because it's always done with one attempt. We are getting 70% success rates (and at times this has gone higher, up to 75%) with one attempt, regardless of when the attempt was done.

Thus, you gotta keep one attempt, but put that one attempt on a day where you actually have a good chance of conception. O-2 and O-1 have best odds of conception.

Wow, those stats are unbelievable! Are you talking 70-75% success rate of conceiving a girl? With one attempt alone, or other sway factors included?

Or is it just that you mean 70-75% success rate of conceiving period, not accounting for gender?

Ooh, I had a question I wanted to add as well. I read the article on antihistamines, and they are included in my personalized plan. Would it be useful for me to take an antihistamine a couple of hours before we BD? And what about Sudafed for DH? Thanks, Atomic! We're only a couple of days away from this month's attempt!! Can't believe it!

We have had between 70-75% success rate FOR PINK with one attempt regardless of timing. Yes, these people were doing other sway tactics, but the numbers drop off by about 10% with 2 attempts and a whopping 30% with three attempts. This ratio has stayed consistent for the three years of the site and it's the same with any other sway tactic that relies on one attempt (such as O+12)

It is absolutely totally and completely possible to get pg with one attempt provided that you don't go overboard with a bunch of other sway tactics that get poorer results. Makes sense to stick with what is working (one attempt) and lose the stuff that's not. (frequency, jellies, antihistamine)

If you want to feel like you've included everything, you can do the antihistamines. They DO cut odds of conception, though, and the results are much lower than the results from one attempt, so you may be trading a good chance of conception with one attempt, for something that isn't bringing home the swaying bacon!

Hmm, okay! I think I'll keep things simple and skip it, then. It's interesting, throughout this process you really learn about what you want...I think I'm learning that although I want a girl, what I really want is another baby. If I can sway it a bit in my favour, then great, but I don't think I'm really in a place where I want to inhibit my chances of getting pregnant to do so.

This week has been LE diet (to the best of my ability), lots of aspartame, and one attempt as soon as I get my positive OPK in a day or two. Exciting!

    Atomic -

For the one attempt - how do you know what days are the fertile window for that attempt??
