I'm 32 weeks - almost counting down already! Panic / nesting mode is taking over now and again lol
My blood test showed low blood count so have had iron tablets prescribed but really makes me feel worse so I have stopped takin them. Eating spinach instead lol
Kitkat: love the name Hazel.
We have Lilou for a girl but no name yet for a boy. We have already emilio, rocco and enzo so it's got to end in a 'o' - bette be a little princess in there!

Kitkat I LOVE Hazel, that was a name we discussed for a girl. Lilou is gorgeous to LaVie, reminds me of the movie The Fifth Element.
So we’ve come up with a name now but don’t know if we’ll be brave enough to use it. Fergus. It’s such a strong name, with “old man” qualities that I find charming. There are quite a few other reasons we like it: Darcy & Eamon are both Irish names & so we wanted another Irish name (even though we’re not Irish!). We were also looking for a name that didn’t sound like the other boys at all. For example we didn’t want a name that ended in a “y” sound (like Cory or Riley) because of Darcy, & we didn’t want another name ending in a “nn” sound (like Aiden or Dylan) because of Eamon. I also like the quirkiness that if we use Fergus, the boys names will start with D, E, and F so they’re alphabetical.
The third reason is that after using Darcy, who was named after Mr Darcy from P&P, I had my heart set on using names from Literature. Eamon isn’t from literature but I just ADORED it so much I HAD to use it. But there is a beautiful poem called “Who Goes With Fergus?” by Yeats. My husband & I studied it (along with P&P) in English Lit at Uni back in 1998 when he was 17 and I was 18.
Not only that, Fergus was an Irish Prince (and later King) who travelled WITH HIS TWO BROTHERS (see the significance??) across the sea to Scotland & founded the kingdom of Argyll.
Our “backup” name is Emmett which is nice enough & probably a much more benign & socially acceptable moniker to impose on a child. But I don’t love Emmett whereas Fergus I adore. And I love the idea of shortening it to Gus, that is way cool. I always admire (& am a tad jealous!) of my friends who are brave enough to use names like Oscar, Bruno, Otis & Huxley. For the last child I’d like to go for it & be brave too! But I know a lot of people will hate it, including our families.
What do you think??Darcy 10.4.2009 ⚓Eamon 4.07.2011⚓

I LOVE it!!! I don't think you should care about what others will think- unless the name is something you made up, people can't pronounce it, etc. Fergus is a beautiful strong name, and one which I think would be readily accepted in most parts of the world.
My husband is German and we live in Germany although I am from the Midwest. Our two sons are called Theodor and Ferdinand (Theo and Ferdi for short) and I know that especially Ferdinand took awhile for some of our family to get used to in the States (and here as well as they are both old fashioned names here which are coming back into style). But now everyone LOVES it and it fits perfectly to him. We recently decided that if we have another boy his name will be Casper. My mom was definitely silent for a minute after we told her, but she will love it if we end up using it and I know it will fit to our son if we have one. Now all three will have names which are given in both German and English but were popular in the States for the last time in the 1920s. I love them and even now still think how happy I am with the names we chose. I'm sure you'll feel the same if you go with Fergus.
I feel like you having strong feelings about the name Fergus means absolutely that you should go for it. I also love the nn GusEnjoying life with my crazy little DS1 2010:and DS2 2012:

Just popping over to say I too LOVE the name Fergus! There's a Fergus in one of the book series I read and we considered it for this little guy :-) And I too agree that even if you get luke warm or even negative reactions at first, all that will fade away once he's born and grows into his name, which he inevitably will. All the people that were on the fence about our daughter's name couldn't imagine her with anything else now of course. I say go for it!

Please have a Fergus Primal!! I would love, love, love to have a Gus. I have loved that name for so long but it sounds horrible with our last name. Which, unfortunately, a lot of short names don't suit our last name. So it really limits some of the choices we both like. But I agree on the "other people's opinion" aspect. My boys are named Irish names. One of which has become pretty popular in the States now and is nothing close to uncommon anymore. In fact, I fear it will eventually become "boring" to people due to overuse. But, I can't help that, since I named him when I loved it and we intended it to be more uncommon than it turned out to be. The other has a much more "classic" Irish name and we get some interesting opinions on it, even now that he is here and suits his name so well. I think it's because it has a different sound to it and people often need me to repeat it for them. I can't count how many people have said "Where did you come up with that one?" Lol. (And I usually answer snarky because it's seriously a very common name in Ireland). And then our daughter has a completely unrelated name to the boys. Not Irish, it's English. And extremely not girly. I guess since we had a girl after two boys, folks thought we would go all frilly and prissy and all that jazz. But we love it and it suits her so well I can't imagine her being anything else.
But now we are struggling to find a good fit for a name for this bub. We have a boy choice, which is an English name as well, although a surname instead of a common first name. I wanted something to tie in our daughters name. It is also much less common than our first child's name and much more common than our second sons name. I feel it's in the middle between our extremes. But we are struggling for a girl name. We have thrown a lot of them around, but nothing really seems to fit perfectly. We really liked one that is rather girly, but I think it sounds funny with our other kids names. We have about three top choices right now. But I don't know if we will even narrow it down before baby comes along.
Glad to hear that everyone is doing pretty well in the new year. I'm 30.5 weeks now and we are starting to talk about setting some stuff up for baby. Nothing major, but up until now we havent done a whole lot so far. We have another sonogram in about a week and a half and I hope they give me a cute profile pic of baby. And verify that all looks healthy and the placenta is moving properly. I'm getting over my fears now that we are further along and I'm starting to get nothing but excited to meet our new addition. We even picked out going home outfits for each sex.A: "Owner" of the following brood:
-Our biggest surprise dude (L: 2009)
-Our rainbow little man (K: 2011)
-Our sway and pray little diva (J: 2013)
-Our lucky charm guy (S: 2015)
We may be done, we may come back for one more sway. Time will tell. At the moment, we are very content with our family!

I'm 31 weeks tomorrow and have been sick this entire pregnancy. Nauseous every day even when I take my anti-nausea pills. The last 3 days I've had a migraine.
I haven't bought much for this baby. I'm team green and have three boys so nothing girly in the house and feel odd to buy anything pink just in case. Sometimes I'm so sure it's another buy but then I'm not sure. I had mixed guesses on my 12 week scan so who knows.
Unfortunately being sick has made me not so excited to get anything new for the baby. I do have clothes from the boys but donated much of my other stuff (ie swing, bassinet, etc.) when we moved last year. Would love to hear everyone's names as I'm a bit stuck on another boys name.
