Ladies, I need some help.
How can something as 'simple' as taking my temperature be so confusing?!
I'm new to all this swaying and charting but I decided to start taking my temp to chart O for a little bit before we start to TTC.
The first month I did it, it worked perfectly. I had a terrible day on CD17 (MASSIVE mood swings), alot of bloating, pressure, cramps and O pains. Very obvious that I was O'ing. My temp had quite a drastic rise the day after that.
Since then (2 or 3 months) I'm sure I have Ovulated as CM has changed, I have had slight mood changes and minor aches and pains (nothing quite as extreme as the first time - or Im used to it now), but my temp doesnt seem to have such a drastic rise?!
It normally sits at 37.3 and it's only going up to 37.5 and then straight back to 37.3/4.
Im also noticing that it tends to get higher the day before or OF O, opposed to the day after.
Fertility Friends is doing an automatic adjustment with my temps and it also pinpoints days that I dont feel were O day?
Has anyone else not had such drastic temp rises or temps rising at different times opposed to day after O..... Or is it me?![]()

HELP with temping

I don't get either drastic temp rises or physical signs of ovulation, and know that sometimes your temps can be slow to react to OV - the day FF says is Ov day can still be out by a day or two

I am not much of temp-er, but I'm hoping that some of the other ladies can help.
If you're not doing so already, you may want to temp vaginally - might give you more clear-cut readings.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I am and on and off again temper. I don't do it vaginally (which IS more accurate), but I am a pretty good mouth temper. See, your temps depend on the amount of progesterone in your system. Once your body starts making more- right at O or right after- your temp rises. Some women have low post-O temps, and some higher. If yours seem low, I would be sure to get your progesterone level checked to make sure it is adequate enough to sustain a pregnancy. Mine was a bit on the low side, and just to be safe, my doc put me on a progesterone supplement, which helps a lot. It is natural, no big deal, and makes me feel better if I were to get pg. Anyway, they usually do that check about 7 days after you O. You can just go in then and ask for a level check.
FF is like a super computer- it puts together all of your info and tells you according to your info when you ovulated, etc. If you are temping properly, logging in your cm and opk results, all should add up to an accurate O day. Sometimes it will even adjust your O day after you have 3 or 4 temps above your cover line if it looks like you Oed a day later or earlier according to your data. It mostly works off of those three data factors, though, so if you only do temps, it will tell you according to that.
Can you post your chart here?

I've used FF for my last PG and now this. I orally temp and find that fine. I always get a temp shift after O but sometimes it's bigger than others. But since temping this time around I'm not sure if my temps are in the right range for a girl? Usually around 36.2ish before O and 36.7 post. Is this too high or not hight enough to be in girl territory?

Sassy, I take the high temps = girl idea with a VERY big grain of salt. I would not lose a wink of sleep over it because we don't even know for sure if that is true.

~I~ would. Biorhythms are not accepted by any scientist and they've been studied for over 100 years and no one ever found any legit evidence to support them. http://circadiana.blogspot.com/2005/...iorhythms.html The temps thing has more real science backing it up than biorhythms does.
I don't blame anyone for wanting to cross all the t's and dot their i's but at some point, some of this stuff seems to serve no purpose other than to stress people out and serve as a handy explanation when people's sways fail "Well, you should have waited until your biorhythms/temps were right!!!"!!!
