Please atomic, don't think I am doubting your advice on timing! I am just getting so annoyed reading all the comments under this article "it worked for me" "and meeee" "and meeeee" "and meeee" - like it was so easy for them. I am still hurting real bad and this kind of thing doesn't help![]()
And look at her, soooo happy with her little girl....I wanted it to be me too, so so bad

Well, she looks like she had 3 boys before having a girl. Maybe it was timing or maybe odds were in her favor after 3 children. I know a few people who had girls after 3 boys. Not sure if they did anything different but please don't beat yourself up about timing! Of all the people you will hear saying it worked for them, you will find as many or more saying it didn't!
I do know how you feel, as I was desperate for a little girl myself. It's hard not to obsess about things you could have done differently but what's done is done. This baby was meant to be so please don't blame yourself!

The two elder ones are her husband's, so she has one of each.

Oh I missed that part. I do know that I have seen many people say timing didn't work for them. I am coming to you as someone who obsessed about what I could have done differently to get a girl. It hurts but you can't go back and change things now. It does no good. I have seen people post who do a perfect sway and still get an opposite. And people who change nothing and get their dream gender.
I know how you feel, believe me and I'm sorry you are struggling.

Honestly, that article was brainless. I'm so happy she is bathing in a sea of pink and her "biggest worry" is that the child will be a tomboy. Must be nice for that to be a parents biggest worry. (In case you missed it, that is intense sarcasm). Mine is that one of mine will develop cancer or involved in a serious accident.
As for her "genius" status, I'm thinking it's pure dumb luck. As we know, it's impossible for her husbands family to "not produce female sperm," more likely, their personality traits and lifestyles have created a long line of male dominated families. If timing was all it took, I'm sure plenty of others would have jumped on that bandwagon (FWIW: my oldest son was not only a "one hit wonder," but was also concieved about 4 days prior to ovulation. My daughter was directly in the fertile window, prolly 1 day before ovulation...clearly that is backwards according to this "genius mother."
Im sorry it affected you so strongly. I hate it when articles or people make things seem so easy, when we all know it's just not that simple. But this article is one of the worse ones I have read. I'm sure they are happy to add a girl to the mix, but the whole tone was a bit over the top for my tastes.Last edited by hotdogz&boyz; February 11th, 2015 at 10:42 PM. She had one boy first in 2012 the two older boys are her husbands from a previous marriage.
Don't you just know now, as a midwife, she will be advising all same gender moms who express a desire for their DG to use the shettles method !! That's who I will feel sorry for.
The odds are 50/50 - she had one boy and one girl - 50/50. What annoys me (I use annoy very loosely as I'm not really annoyed) is that she thinks she cracked the code so to speak. Suddenly after a pigeon pair she is the expert?!?!
Try having 6,7,8 of one gender first. Bah meh. Lol.

Yes you are right. I am just having one of those days. I also cried this evening watching tv - there was this cute little girl in a pink tutu, and the second she appeared in the screen my DH tapped my leg, cause he knew the tears were coming lol.
I just hate-hate-hate being pregnant and I wanted to be done so bad!! Sorry to go on....!2013

Maybe because she was restricting access to her husband, he was doing frequent release on his own, so to speak. I heard that sways girl.

I had my boy on day 10 of my cycle without knowing anything about swaying! Then swayed for my daughter diet etc and Dtd on my most fertile day which was day 13! There must be thousands of woman that have done just timimg and of course a few will have got daughters and others sons but not because of timing! I have a few friends that it didn't work for and so I done more research! Sometimes u can do the best sway everything perfect but still get the opposite then some people don't do anything and get desired gender! Swaying just helps odds slightly! Try not to think about it! Ur little man was just meant to be xx
