When I told my midwife other day I had had Harmony test she said it's much safer than amnio so i would def go for that or similar if you can? We had to get it done privately it it was worth every penny for peace of mind and found out gender too! Also had results before 12 weeks so in my opinion it's the way to go., hth x

Keshet - I'd be curious which trisomies can't be tested using blood but can be tested using amnio. The nipt have recently added many more conditions so I can't imagine a trisomy that isn't covered. Unfortunately there are many birth defects bit covered by nipt (spinal bfida, cleft palate, etc), but those don't show up on amnio anyways.

I am not sure now of the differences--just that the NIPT may contain cells from the placenta which could be mosaic and not necessarily reflective of the baby. The amnio get cells more directly from the baby and therefore has a higher accuracy rate. Will have my genetic counseling meeting tomorrow to discuss more. I also talked more with my doctor today and decided that we will do NIPT and the NT US. If things look bad, we will follow up with CVS soon. If things look ok, I will do an amnio later just to confirm. I feel better about an amnio later than a CVS earlier because I worry about messing with the placenta. I have a history of placenta issues in a past pregnancy. Does his make sense?

Ultrasound went well! Measuring right on, 7 weeks 6 days. Heart beat 167[emoji173]️. It relieving but not?!? I just know nothing is yet certain, I suppose it never is until you hold that baby in your arms.

So i totally just felt two rolling pops way low in my uterus. Had to have been the baby! Insane if it really was...it is still so early! It definitely wasn't gas bubbles though. Haha.

11 weeks but baby has been measuring 4 days ahead consistently so little dude must be big. Haha

Yes, I read the same thing about the mosaic cells, and everyone has different opinions so it's hard to decide what to do. I had the panorama around 10.5 weeks, and the regular quad screening with u/s, and if anything was high risk, I would have went for amnio.
I think what you are doing makes total sense. Epically avoiding the cvs and doing amnio instead, which has lower risks. Good luck and keep us posted
