Grrr...I'm so frustrated with temping! I've been avoiding doing it since my nights are so variable with waking kids it's hard to get consistent temps. I decided to try this month to see if I was wrong about my O signs and that's why I keep getting BFNs. I was doing ok - I was showing a distinct rise after my suspected O date and today would have been my third day of high temps so FF would have given me my crosshairs. Then...this morning at 5am ds3 woke up crying. I quickly popped the thermometer in before getting up and got a temp as low as my lowest pre-O temp! We're talking a nearly 2 degree drop from yesterday's temp. What's going on? I usually take my temp around 7, so it was 2 hours early, and it was entirely possible that I was sleeping with my mouth open, but is that enough to account for that temp dip? ALL other signs point to me ovulating on Tuesday - cervix is firm and tightly closed, cm is creamy. I just want to get those crosshairs so I know how many dpo I am!!!

mocha if you are good at determining your cervix position ecc. and it is firm and closed then the low temp is probably because it was 2 hours earlier. could you take an opk just to be sure? i have really stabile pre-o temps now, the exact same every day, one day Ds2 woke me up 1 hour earlier and my temp was a lot lower then the other days too.
I love it too when the crosshairs show up!

I've been taking OPKs every day since my + and have gotten clear negatives. I haven't taken one today, but I will a little later. I just hate that the wonky temp is throwing doubt on something I would feel very confident about if I wasn't temping.

I think I'll just assume it's a wonky temp and wait until tomorrow. If I get another low temp then, I'll start to worry. I think if I have to go another cycle, I may take my temp vaginally. I wear a mouth guard to bed to stop me from grinding my teeth, and as a result often sleep with my mouth open (gee, don't I paint an attractive picture of myself?), so I'm constantly doubting the accuracy of my temps. I also have a non-BBT-specific thermometer that is a quick-read type (sometimes in as little as 10 seconds), so I doubt it's the most accurate option.

Mocha, I would disregard that temp since it was earlier. Temping only is reliable if you do it the same time every morning and don't wake or move (a lot) for at least 6 hours, I believe. If your opks are negative, I would say you o'ed already for sure. Sometimes temps dip down post-O anyway, so don't worry about it!

    Ok warning TMI!!
Ok so I was wondering if anyone else has experianced this before...it is not new for me but just wondering if anyone else has had this when O'ing.
For about 4-5 days I have had cm that is stretchy like eggs whites...then for a day or so nothing....then this morning it is back again.....also my lower back aches around O time and I get an achy pressure like feeling in my rear area. Anyone else ever have that during O? I get it sometimes around O and right before AF sometimes...but AF is not anywhere close to arriving yet. Sorry for the TMI but I am just wondering if anyone else gets that or if I am just weird!

Well I haven't seen anymore yellow cm today. It's just the white color. Not as much either so it may be turning to sticky. So I guess that's not good for a BFP!!
