    Having a bad day.....

Excited about my pink sway which begins next month but today is not a good day.....I'm coming off my anti depressants, just taking one every other day at the mo and plan to stop completely by the end of this month & I feel dreadful [emoji17] anyone else had this or going through this too? X

Oh sorry you feel this way hun. I've only just started my antidepressants a few months ago and I'm also dreading the day I have to stop to ttc Are you getting help from a doctor to gradually wean off them? Not sure if that's the right term for it. What really helps me is look for small things that make me happy, like buying some pretty flowers, doing my nails or taking a long hot bath. But if you have a serious depression, that's not enough. Could you consider using antidepressants that are safe during pregnancy? My dr says I can continue to use these, but I'm scared for the possible side effects on the baby. Be kind to yourself and ask for help when you need. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the reply, Im working with my doctor at the mo, just taking one every other day as advised by him. I'm really not keen on taking anti'd's when ttc or pregnant - personal preference so Im just hoping and praying it is just a bad day! Feel really woozy and headachey plus I feel like I could burst into tears any given moment!! Ive been on them for over 3 years now after a battle with PND but the thought of another baby and ttc is really keeping me going and making me so excited! Thanks again, a hot bath and an early night I think is in order for me tonight x

Be kind to yourself Milly. I had an aweful time trying to wean off mine too. Though I think it was the thought of it more than the actual withdrawal. You can do it! You will be sweet xx

Milky-I've been on antidepressants since DS3. I will continue to take them until BFP. But, on the occasion that I try to wean myself, what I find works for me is dancing!! Crack the music up and dance around with the kids!!

I tried to wean before conceiving DS2 but it was also at a stressful time as we were about to go on an overseas holiday with DS1 and I ended up going back on it and at a higher dose! I managed to drop the dosage down again by the time I was pregnant but I decided to keep on it at I didn't want to go though weaning again as it is not very enjoyable.

I did manage to wean again and am off them now but I did it slower the next time. I started cutting back to half a day for about a month, then a quarter a day and then every 2nd day and then stopped. It was much better that time and I didn't get many withdrawals from the slow process.

Good luck! I suggest taking it a slow as you can

I'm sorry you are having a rough time of it coming off your meds. I was on them before TTC DS2 and had a hard time coming off them too. I found the method purple mentioned above to be the easiest way to come off them. Like yourself I started coming off them by taking one of the lowest dosage every second day and it was too hard so I slowed the process by just taking less of each tablet every day and eventually every second day and so on. It took longer than I had initially hoped but I was a happier person and much easier to be around I'm sure. Be kind to yourself, take time for yourself and try your best to steer clear of stressful situations. And focus on being pregnant with your DG hopefully really soon x
