I'm not sure what to do. Sometimes I hear timing is least important and then you hear it's very important. Anyway, I bought opks for the first time ever which I totally regret to be honest. I kinda know around when I O but not 100% sure. I get O pains and whatnot. My cycles are typically 32-33 days long. On cd13 I started with the opks and got a line but not as dark as the control. Cd14 it was darker...as dark as the control. Today it is darker then the control. So I BD on cd13 and now not even sure what to do or when to BD again. I had some ewcm today. I don't wanna hit boy territory....is there bit territory if timing is not that important??? Should I wait to BD?? I don't even know how to determine O+12 at all. Help!!!![]()

I am in the same boat as you, I am leaning towards timing isn't the MOST important but I think it does matter to some extent. I feel Ph/ diet is the top factor as I know several (almost everyone I know on a day to day basis) people who have all boys. I don't call that 50/50 odds
!! They all eat diets high in meat and tomatoes, potatoes and sodium. I am focusing on diet and doing my best for an O+12 attempt then adding more days prior to O getting progressively closer to O monthly as needed due to lack of conception. My O+12 attempt is basically to DTD 36 hours after the first TRUE (both lines same color) OPK. Granted I am new to this as well but that seems to be the only way I can understand how to calculate it. All the CM stuff confuses me

Personally I don't think there is a boy territory - check out the studies I posted in the science section. The only scientist who seems to think timing matters was Shettles himself and even he asked his women to avoid O etc so it could have been that that was swaying instead.
Have you been freq releasing since your previous attempt? If so I'd take an antihistamine and dtd again

I do think timing may sway under usual circumstances - for example you have more EWCM on some days (possibly O day) and that would usually allow more sperm into the cervix and the higher sperm count would sway boy, however I think most of us swaying do more than enough to counteract those aspects by taking an antihistimine, using gels or douching and lowering pH. I'm timing my attempt to be close to O (the day before or the morning of O) because I think it matters in terms of getting pregnant! If I conceive another boy I'll feel confident that it had nothing to do with when we DTD!
I think part of the problem with O+12 is being able to determine it in the first place without completely missing the egg and without getting into a flap and potentially raising testosterone and I've never tried it so I can't help with that. How about you take an antihistimine and see if it helps dry up the EWCM and DTD again if it does?2005

Oh yes, if you haven't been keeping up with the frequent release and you decide to go again it'd be a good idea to get DH to release once (without DTD) and then DTD with the second 'batch' as soon as he can!

Thanks ladies! I took an antihistamine last night but didn't Dtd. I feel slightly crampy today and do t see any ewcw so far. I will take another antihistamine tonight and dtd again. Haven't done in since cd13 so i told dh to do his thing today and we will dtd again tonight! Hope it's not too late!

Ok I noticed watery cm ttoday. Is that normal after ewcm? Is it still a good idea to do it?. Keep in mind my sway is mild. I haven't gone all out.

I think it changes from person to person and from cycle to cycle so it's hard to say. I tend to get a burst of EWCM 4 or 5 days before I O then it turns less egg-whitey and I get a bit more back on O day. This last cycle I had hardly any EWCM apart from on cd9 then I had loads after I O'd! It's the EWCM which is the fertile stuff so I'd be happy to go again if it was any other type - but you have to do what feels right for you. GL!

Sometimes ignorance really is bliss, isn't it???
I know I'm late answering this but I think you did exactly right. I don't think there's "boy territory" and "girl territory"; if timing sways at all, it's because things happen internally (dryer CM for example) and if you're doing other things to sway, you're doing everything timing would even do, and better.!!! I agree with your assessment about the odds PD! I know a lot of people with all/mostly girls, and a lot of people with all/mostly boys, and hardly ANYONE with 50-50. If it really was just a flip of a coin, we all should know mostly people with half boys and half girls and IRL I barely know a soul who has that.
