Well, ladies - I'm 11dpo now and still have a BFN. I'm really feeling down now - I don't know what to do about next month if I don't get my BFP this month. I've rambled on about this in other threads, but my mother is going to be in Spain for much of the month of June, so if I have a baby then we won't have anyone to come help us with the kids when I go to the hospital and during those first early days home with the new baby. At the same time, the thought of waiting another 2 months before potentially getting a BFP (and having to diet all that time) makes me want to cry. DH doesn't want to wait and seems to think his mother could come from the other side of the country to help out, but she's never so much as lifted a finger when she visits and isn't very good with the kids (they only see her once or twice a year and she ignores them much of the time she's here) + he won't ask tell her we're TTC so we don't even know that she'd be willing to come. I just fear I'd end up having to host her instead of her taking care of us - when my mom's here after birth she cooks all our meals, does all our laundry, and keeps the older kids entertained all day long and I just can't imagine my MIL doing that.
Sorry for the long story, I'm just so conflicted about what to do. What do you guys do about your older kids when you go to the hospital to have a baby? We don't have any babysitters or any family in town. I have a couple of Mom friends who might be able to come for an hour or two each, but both have 2 kids of their own so I can't ask them to come for long.

Mocha-I'm sorry about the bfn. You're still not out though.
IMO if I were you, I'd go ahead with TTC next month. But from what you've said on here you've lost A LOT of weight. Maybe you should scale way back on the diet and focus on eating healthy and gaining a little weight back. I was skinny with DD1, but weighed 150 when we conceived DD2 (I'm 5'2").
When we had DD2, I did have mil to help out. DD1 stayed the night with her until we got out if the hospital. After that I didn't have any help. This time idk what I'm going to do. I've grown not to trust mil do if she does help out while we're in the hospital, she'll be staying at our house. She probably won't want to do that so DH will probably be the one taking care of the girls and leaving me in the hospital by myself (at night only).2006

Oh mocha!!! You're not out yet!! I personally could not take a month off, I just want to get it done!! I think you definitely need help whilst you're in hospital and your mil is better than no-one! Besides the whole thing is difficult to plan as baby might decide to come early and throw everything off anyway! Still keeping fx for you, xxxxxxx

The thing is, MIL lives 2000km away, so she wouldn't be able to come on a moment's notice. She would probably have to come a week before the due date and stay until the little one is born, which could potentially mean a loooong stay. We aren't close at all, and as I said, when she comes she normally doesn't lift a finger to help with anything.
If I end up being in the hospital for any sort of stay after birth (last time I lucked out and went home 2 hours after birth), I would be fine with staying there on my own without dh. Honestly, he's not much help with a baby anyway and is super grumpy when he doesn't get much sleep.
I think you're both right, though - I don't think I can take a month off TTC and still keep my sanity. Honestly, when DH suggested we keep trying anyway I felt relieved even though I was stressed about the logistics. No matter how depressed I get, I find CD1 reassuring somehow - I know that in 2 weeks I'll make my attempt, and 2 weeks later I'll know whether or not I'm pregnant. Besides, my reading on SweetBabyBump said I would get a pink BFP in September.
Alexis - I'm 110lbs now, and my BMI is 20. I definitely don't want to lose anymore weight, though I think I've found a balance that lets me maintain this weight since I only lost 1lb in the last few weeks. I'm definitely going to ease up on the diet, mostly because I'm ready to die of boredom from eating the same thing over and over. I'm not going to be quite as strict with protein (maybe 50g instead of 40g) so I can eat some more normal food. I might even let myself eat chicken once a week, but I haven't decided for sure on that yet. I'm also going to let myself cheat on special occasions like eating out, and I'm going to try not to feel too guilty about it.

Mocha, I'm sorry, hun. It may still be early for you indeed. But I know how you feel. I say keep going. You guys will figure it out, even if you have to search for a while and find a nice university girl or nanny that can sit with your kids when you go to the hospital and then some afterwards while you recover. I think about that stuff also, because both of our families are 1000 miles away from where we are, and both DH and I have to work full-time, so juggling a baby will be hard, but we both know we want one so badly that we just want to make one and then we will worry about logistics after that.
And I think your plan of adding in some more protein is a good idea. Maybe a prenatal also if you don't already take one. I will be pulling for you!
Indira, sorry for the AF on her way.
PrincessSarah, I'm excited to see some more tests!
Emmy, hope you are doing well also. My temp was coverline low this morning myself (2dpo) so I need to start my progesterone supplements for sure. Emmy, I may have said this before, but have you had your progesterone level checked? You just get a blood draw about 7 days after you ovulate. May help! If you want to, you can also just take matters into your own hands and get a progesterone cream from a health store and use that. It is totally natural, made from yams, so won't hurt you at all. I don't mean to get you all freaked out or anything, may be that you are just fine and have lowish post-o temps, but I know that I need a bit of a progesterone boost myself. Just a thought!
