yes, some women have a 16day LP, it's more likely that you're ovulating a bit later, though, as LPs are constant (within a day) so if you had a 14 day LP before and AF is now later you will be OVing a bit later too

Rainbowflower is right that generally the cause of longer cycles is later ovulation, but it might also be that something is wrong with your progesterone levels. Being on the ‘boy diet’ it’s possible that you may be slightly oestrogen dominant, which means that your uterine lining doesn’t thicken up as much as it normally would. This can delay your period and when it does come it is usually lighter than normal with a lot of clots (sorry for the TMI!).

I experienced something similar to what you describe when I first started taking thyroid medication. My usual cycle length was 28 days with ovulation consistently on CD 15 according to FF. When I started on the thyroid meds, FF showed that I ovulated anywhere from CD 10 to 13, but AF wouldn’t come unless I stopped taking the pills for a couple of days. The difference between my pre- and post-ovulation temps were also much less than normal, which is another indication of insufficient progesterone, so you might want to consider temping again just to make sure.

It was only after I started taking Maca and eating turmeric on a regular basis to increase progesterone that my cycle stabilised again. If you’re planning to start TTC soon, then it’s probably a good idea to make an appointment with your Ob/Gyn and maybe get your blood levels checked. Too little progesterone can prevent your embryos from implanting, thus preventing pregnancy altogether, or cause miscarriage a few weeks in. I know swaying lore advocates high testosterone and oestrogen and low progesterone for TTC a boy, but the fact is that progesterone is vital in preparing the uterus for pregnancy. It does no good to conceive your little boy if your uterus can’t help him stay alive.

Anywhere between 10-16 days is considered fairly normal, but 14 days is the average. It is WAY more likely that the first part of your cycle has lengthened. Usually if you start out having a 14 day LP, it will stay that way (or get shorter) rather than get longer.

It's hard to know if you really did ovulate based on symptoms. Sometimes you can have pretty severe O symptoms that are alleviated after you O, so it may be that you were just gearing up to O and it took a couple days for your body to surge.

Have you started any new supplements that might affect your cycle??

I am also skeptical of the idea that low progesterone = more boys.

I really really doubt that's what is going on here though because usually low progesterone leads to shorter LPs. Most likely is that Jenny's follicular phase has gotten just a smidge longer due to changes in diet or supps.

It can be difficult for people in some parts of the world to just walk into a doctor's office and ask for tests unfortunately.

It's ok though, please don't worry, I don't think there is anything at all wrong with you other than just a long cycle. It may even be stress - there is nothing like an upcoming sway to make people's cycles go strange.

I would not delay my sway (although I would like to see you eat more protein, if nothing else) at all for this. It's probably something you never would have noticed if not for swaying.
