Just think of that instant weight loss when baby is born! Baby weight, placenta, and fluid weight GONE! My end total was like 17lbs gained with some losses throughout. 10 of that was gone instantly with labor 8lbs was baby. Just make healthy eating choices and watch your carbs and TONS of water which of course means more bathroom trips but the way to burn water weight is to drink water. After you have bladder control back drink half your body weight in oz daily. So if you weigh 100lbs then drink 50oz daily. You wont retain water doing that and will lose weight. Breastfeeding burns calories so does toting a baby around all day![]()

I know a lot of my weight gain lately is water weight. I drink tons of water and always retain a lot when I am prego. My bladder is so shot right now, I literally go to the bathroom every 30mins much of the day. I am so hopeful losing water weight will take some of the pounds off.
I breastfeed so that has always helped too. I am just worried that because I am older it will be harder to lose the extra fat this time around.
I could never lose the last 10lbs from DD3 and gained 20 on the HE diet so I feel like I am at such a disadvantage before I ever started! However, I eat constantly and have this whole pregnancy. I have never known hunger like this in my life. Boys certainly require more calories than girls. It will be nice not to have to hang out in the bathroom or kitchen so often!!!

I felt like I ate a lot more with DS too! I felt as if I was snacking constantly! Might look into a bellefit compression too if you are concerned about pulling everything back in. It really helps all that extra skin and the harder to lose "mothers apron" when everything is pulled up where it should be while it heals. Harder to make that little fat deposit go away when its flapping around in the breeze as it were. Mine is really bad this time even though I didn't gain much and Im only 31. Its going to be a battle this time!

Thanks but that pic is deceiving - i've gained at least 35lbs so far.... I'm really hoping a good amount is water as i'm already 5lbs more than I gained with DS and I still have 4 weeks left... I had him at 38+3 though so maybe she will be early too!

It's good to know I'm not alone with the weight gain. With my boys I would constantly snack but I was eating much healthier...I would crave avocardo's and almonds so my weight gain was easy to come off. This time I crave sugar be it from fruits or cake I don't care just give me sugar lol. Vegtables do not interest me in the slightest so I'm having to force it down in my evening meal. It also doesn't help that my DH has turned into a human feeder and brings home goodies. I've got a support belt for after the birth as my ligaments have parted quite a lot so my doctor thinks I may need physio. It happened after my DS2 so I'm not too worried about it.
Thinking of all you ladies due to have your babies soon. Wishing you the best deliveries possibleDS12011 DS2

Yep, next Wednesday is due date. Midwife checked me yesterday and said my cervix is clammed shut. Ugh
I am now in the "wait and see" zone of pregnancy.
The midwife group I am with suggest a c-section at 41 weeks for VBAC ladies, like myself, but I am not so thrilled about going to 41 weeks at all. Yesterday the midwife said the doctor's are usually apt to wait until after 41 weeks to actually do the c-section...so nothing definitive right now.
However, I am opposed to pitocin too. The insane OBGYNs around here will use pitocin on a VBAC candidates sometimes, but I think its unsafe so we aren't going that route.
I guess I can't get too excited until I am actually at 40 weeks, which is still a few days away.
I have random real contractions mixed with Braxton-Hicks, but obviously they aren't making my cervix dilate! When I set down for a while I start contracting hard but then when I get up they stop.
My main complaint about going to 41+ weeks is being miserable and totally immobile AND that 41 weeks is DD1's birthday and DD3's birthday is 2 days later....wouldn't it be lovely to have 3 kids birthdays on 3 days in a row...NO that would not be lovely!
