So I am eating HE These days while I ttc my little boy....I am overweight and wanted to know if I still have to eat this way when I am in the 2ww.
I just want to do the Atkins induction during that time....right know I am eating cheeseburgers, lamb chops, egg white omlette sandwiches, bananas, coconut water , v8 and occasional packs of chips...

No, you can't take a break in the 2ww. Especially not with Atkins. Not safe during pregnancy and may undermine your sway, inadvertently swaying pink. May even make you more likely to have a chemical pregnancy if you conceive a boy.
ARe you gaining weight?? If so, stop. You do not need to gain wieght on HE Diet. Just hold steady where you are, be sure you are lifting weights and exercising to keep the weight under control.
You can eat as few as 1800-2000 cals a day on HE although it's better to up exercise before you drop cals.
Bananas and chips are little but empty calories and potassium. Please eat colorful fruits and healthier vegetables like sweet potatoes instead of wasting calories on things that have little to no nutrients in them. I would also drop breads and grains if you're gaining weight.
Why egg white??? Whole eggs are much better for swaying blue.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thanks so much for your advice Atomic,
I am glad I asked before the 2ww, and saved myself another big mistake.
I googled more about Atkins and read that it indeed can cause chemical pregnancies due to the high protein as found in research ...
My question is how much protein do you recommend?? Im a little confused because I know we are supposed to have high protein , but when does it become too much?

The problem with Atkins is not simply the protein, it's because they eat very few carbs which causes your body to have to go into a state called "ketosis" to turn cals from fats and protein into energy the body can use. So because we do include carbs from fresh fruits, veg, some juices, and nuts, plus a little dark choc!!) we don't have to worry about that - even for people who are avoiding bread, pasta, potatoes, and other grains.
I generally recommend that you guys aim for 90-120 g protein but as long as it's more than you were eating before, then it's all good. If you were eating 60 and up that to 75, it's still better than you were doing before!!!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
