That is fab!!
Dr H,
I was on the LE diet since the 1 st may and lost about a stone in weight, I was small to begin with and this took my bmi to 17.8 or something like that! I was also taking vitex and saw palmetto. I
Last cycle I didn't ovulate and have now stopped taking vitex and sp and I have gained 5 pounds. I am yet to see if this will bring ov back. Do you think I made the right decision or should I continue to take the supplements?
Also...when I had blood tests done my lh and fsh levels were low, don't know if that's significant
Thank you so much for your time!

Hi Swish
Sorry I took so long to answer feeling quite ill at the moment, but thought I would try and distract myself.
I am concerned with your BMI as it is very low.
In saying that Vitex can play up on some people, but it in this instance I believe it is your weight and your Low FSH and low FSH. I would recommend stopping all supplements and getting your BMI back into the normal range as a first measure .
Losing weight and low BMI can cause no ovulation and it is not healthy for the reproductive system.
Low levels of FSH and LH can be secondary ovarian failure related to a pituitary or hypothalamic problem . Basically Vitex has been determined to affect the pituitary.
Are you seeing an OB/Gyn? If so, have they investigated further. Big Hugs Dr H

Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it! The doc has done blood tests and has referred me for an ovarian ultrasound. I have stopped all supplements and now have a bmi of 18.4. Do you think that's ok? Do you know how long ov takes to return? Many thanks!! Hope you are feeling better, xx

A pleasure to help. A healthy BMI range is 20 to 25, so you need to have a good nutritive diet and increase your BMI.
It is hard to know about your ovulation returning as you have low FSH and LH. These results can sometimes indicate a disorder of the pituitary gland , PCOS and some other syndromes so it is imperative to get this checked out.
Have you had the U/S? Big Hugs Dr H
