So as the topic says, I'm feeling like a big fat fatty. For the most part, I've done well with eating whole and healthy foods. I do splurge on the weekends and I know the past week I've been off with eating and weights since I started back to work.
I'm getting back on track and will start back with 4-5 days of weights and was going to drop my calories to 2000. My question is, if I lose weight will this negatively impact me? Im sure it will. I'm really wanting to lose some fat that I've added since I've also added muscle so I just look bigger all over. I'm eating coconut oil, avocados, nuts, and whole milk so I'm getting a lot of good fat which is keeping me bigger. I plan on keeping those foods but maybe spreading my lunch out so I eat every couple hours in the afternoon. Also cutting out all peanut butter (I could eat a gallon at a time) and any complex carb (I rarely eat bread, rice, or noodles anyway but just being careful). I feel like I may lose some weight when dropping my calories and I'm nervous about that. Anyone know? I remember someone on the boards went through this but she may not be around anymore.

While there is a general trend that weight loss = more girls and weight gain = more boys, it has overall not been the strongest of sway tactics with plenty of exceptions going both ways. I don't generally recommend weight loss and would prefer to just exercise more and reduce cals slightly and try to hold steady where you are at. I would play it by ear, it may very well be the case that you'll lower cals, up exercise and not lose at all.
I think you need to continue to eat complex carbs in the form of fruit, veg, and nuts. Protein + carbs = boys. Fine to drop bread, rice, potatoes, pasta but I don't want you to start eating Atkins type diet either. Not safe pre-pregnancy and may sway pink to some extent anyway.!!! Thanks! Ok, last question on this I promise! Can I attempt to replace fat with muscle? Basically just by increasing exercise (4 to 5 days of weights and walks almost everyday) and eating about 2000 calories. Like you said, it may not work but I just want to get rid of some of the fat because my clothes are looking gross. No more hiding it in maxi dresses now that the school year started and I'm back at work.
