Sometimes if I have a carby snack, I'll grab some nuts to add protein. My dh and I make protein shakes with organic protein powder, whole milk, berries, and greens too

I also want to point out that if you're eating again very soon (like within 60-90 minutes) you can get away with having just carbs. THe reason we have carbs and protein is to prevent blood sugar from dropping after eating just or mostly carbs, but if you'll be eating again very soon it's ok because your blood sugar won't have a chance to drop.

^^this can be a good way to eat something like avocado which is kinda filling but not a lot of protein, or a chocolate bar - I used to have an avocado with salsa for a midmorning snack or a dark chocolate bar when I was working, and then in about another hour or so I would eat my actual lunch. My blood sugar never really had a chance to drop before I was eating again.

Yes they're super! They are actually protein + carbs all on their own even without the egg/waffle if you are trying to watch calories.

Will a handful of nuts do for frequent snacking or a teaspoon of a nut butter? Or should it be with a more carby item like bread or fruit?
