Hi ladies, just got results back the other day from our cff dna test!

We are having a....


Girl!

Pretty much in shock and it hasn't hit me. Will it feel real soon or will it not feel real till she's here?

I told myself I'd just let the boy result sink in but I've been doing some research online today and have seen that it seems to really be 50/50. I had previously seen it was about 70/80% accurate so I guess it's still just as likely right as a coin flip. I think what I'm most scared of is that if and when I hear it's a boy I will truly be shattered this time. I wasn't with DS2 so I figured it'd be the same. But this time feels more painful.

I hope you get your girl. With ds3 I had no gender disappointment. All of one kind in my experience is really special and amazing. Hugs!

Yay hitme! Scary but great! So you'll have an answer in 2 weeks? How do they tell you? Is it on the phone or by letter?

I wish we had panorama here, although looking at the prices I don't think we could go for it anyway. Does harmony tell you the sex too? I wonder if it will all be routine in a few years.

I'm itching for my 13 week scan so I have more of a clue about gender. I really hope I get a good clear nub shot so I can know one way or the other. I want to start getting used to the idea of a little brother properly if that's what we're having. I will be happy with another little man but I think I will need time to get used to the idea of never having a daughter. Argh hate this waiting!

Is the blood for gender something that needs to be done at 10 weeks or can it be done later like at 12 or 13 weeks ?

Thanks Junie. I still don't know if I want to find out gender through blood test.
Is the earliest you can find out through ultrasound that's predictable at 14 week or 16?

Yep you can do it later and harmony is more or less the same from what I gather; I'm not sure exactly how they tell you. This lab has online results for most of the bloodwork but I'm not sure about this test!
Myself, I know I won't be satisfied with even girly nub shot - I need to know before I show preferably... My plan is to tell gender when I announce pregnancy. Double whammy lol.

I'd call around elective us places and see how soon they'll take you. I had an ultrasound at 14 wks in an emergency situation and was obviously boy - even at 14 wks the tech said she was 100% positive lol

I understand.... Before I knew the gender of this one, I kept thinking on how I would react if I heard girl..... When is your next scan?

I have an appointment tomorrow but I doubt I'll get a scan. They'll probably just have me schedule a future one. I did schedule an elective one for 14 weeks which is only 3.5 weeks away.
I came home and DH wanted to discuss boy names. He's totally oblivious.

Hopefor4 that is awesome news! What a lucky girl to have 3 big brothers that will adore her. I'm sure 3 boys is awesome. I think that's what has DH in the clouds right now. Besides my oldest will only be 3.5 when this LO is born so I know they'd be close. Just praying that the pink dust around here has rubbed off on me.
