Yep - idk why but all abdominal obstetrical ultrasounds are like that. You pee all you got 2 hrs before your exam and then within 1.5 hrs of the exam you slam back 32 ounces of fluid. (Like almost 3 cans of pop for visuals) then you hope you don't arrive needing to piss yourself and find out your tech bailed on you with no replacement [emoji108]🏻

I didn't know that covered - I can't imagine how sad you were
I'm in love already - that's all that matterssquashing the family drama, stranger comments will complete me. Lol I think I'm talking myself into doing the blood work... $550 would be spent better elsewhere but having this opportunity to disclose everything is so comforting in so many ways . ..

Thanks for all your help ladies. I'm gonna try to get over the intelligender results. GONE!
I had my checkup today, and I casually told the doctor I had some spotting and cramping. She pulled out the u/s machine and was like "lets look!" hahaha I wasn't expecting that, she caught me off guard. But luckily I got to see a healthy baby! Consistently measuring 2/3 days behind, so that puts me at 10w2d. I asked for the panorama test and she told me that I could do the NT u/s at 12 weeks instead and went ahead and scheduled that. So didn't even consider my bloodwork request. I'm a little disappointed but happy to do the 12 week scan, although I hate the idea of having to do more guessing at the gender. I got great shots of the baby though!
Hitme, congrats on your healthy baby! Glad you have a good visit today too.'12

Baby pink what is the NT u/s?
Is that routinely done or do you have to be a certain age?
If insurance pays for that maybe it's better to know at 12 weeks and save the cost of the blood testing.
Btw did you sway?

Hitme - Sorry you didn't hear twins, but great to hear a solid heartbeat! And I know heartbeat doesn't tell you anything but that seems like a high one to me! Really hope you hear girl soon!
Babypink - That's great you got to see your little one again! I don't even think my doctor's office will do a 12 week scan, so I'll have to wait the full 18-20 weeks or so. So, does that mean in only two short weeks we'll get to guess at a nub?! Yay!!
Covered - I can't imagine how terrible that must have been. I know when we tell family DH's side will be praying it's a boy since they have all girls on that side. And although at this point I'll be happy with either, I can definitely understand your frustration. I hope you can just tell them it's a girl and to shove it one of these days soon!!DS1 5/2016

Aww lovely healthy scans all round! Congratulations ladies.
Does anyone else feel irritable in pregnancy? Honestly I'm so snappy it's unreal. I feel sorry for OH but on the other hand I don't because I feel it's almost his duty to put up with me. They don't get any nausea, stress, hormonal crap. If only he knew how stressed I am about the health of the baby, the gender, dealing with my emotions after birth, the list goes on! I feel resentful. But last pregnancy I was completely chilled and laid back. I didn't have any hormonal outbursts, tears of stresses. I think all this gender stuff has changed the way I feel as I didn't even consider it the first time. I hope after we find out one way or the other I can start to enjoy being pregnant as I will finally know and have to make peace with the way it will be in my future family. I'm rambling now sorry...

I didn't do any swaying. I had planned to start towards the end of this year because our plan was to conceive next year, but this baby had other plans. I'm hoping there are some factors that helped me unofficially sway. I was breastfeeding and not taking any supplements, I was skipping breakfast a lot, we only had one attempt and DH had abstained for several days. However, I still ate red meat and other boy-friendly foods. I have a very boy-friendly lifestyle. I just hope the other factors increased my chances enough. Oh well, honestly I've been internalizing that this may be a boy and I'm starting to feel okay with that. This is actually what I wanted from that intelligender test, because my head was way too high up in the clouds thinking that I had a great shot at pink. I needed to start considering that it could very well be another boy.

Covered families can be very frustrating and people on the whole can be very thoughtless. Just try to brush the gender comments off and ignore. Difficult I know. I think it will be the same from our families if we find out we're having a boy as a few people know I always wanted one of each.
