Yes, it's unprotected every 4 days. The idea is to take the stress of opks out of the equation but still maintain the single attempt in the fertile period. So for example you'd start at cd4, dtd cd 4-8-12-16-20-24-28 etc. If you also wanted to dtd on cd 5, 6, 11, or 18- that's when you'd need it to be protected.

Thanks for that! That's what I thought, but just got a bit confused !
Is anybody else feeling a bit nervous about how they will feel if this doesn't work? Have read about three peoples failed sways (hate saying failed as all babies are miracles!) In the last day. I then read their sways everything looks absolutely perfect! Way better than I am doing. It just makes me worry how I will get over the disappointment if this doesn't work.
I suppose it is a kick up the butt to remind me that this is just to sway he odds slightly and if I am very lucky it will go my way but there is a still a strong chance it won't.(2010)

Remember as people go on not getting a BFP, they drop things that sway heavily, like exercise. Most of them recently dropped that. Hang onto what works no matter what- diet (always stay within limits, especially fat, and plan cheats), keep one attempt either at positive opks OR BDing every 4 days, and keep doing exercise if you start it (it does not have to be intense- light walking for a hour counts!!!). Everything else is back ground noise. Those that were successful did these and kept them up! You hear about people loosening on the diet, those got got a DD may have added "forbidden foods" (there really are none- you can eat meat but still stay in the limits) or upped calories a bit. This is fine as long as you stay in the limits (40-60g protein, 40-60g fat, and 1500-1800 calories) which those that got a DD did. As time has gone on, I'm a firm believer that sticking with Omega 6 fats (canola, vegetable oil, palm oil, etc) and avoiding saturated fats is key.
Another aspect that intrigues me is alcohol. Most that got a DD drank spirits (vodka, rum, gin, etc), low alcohol per volume white wines, or light beer from AF-O.
FX and GL to you!!!

I can't do the exercise so I do nothing lol. And I sick big time at the diet. But I have cut out alot of protein, stopped weight training, trying not to snack and sticking with one attempt. Hoping my hubby's lower post vas reversal will help sway too. I'm nervous about the couple pounds I've gained from not working out. Eeeeek!

Jennypenny, usually I'm trying to avoid thinking about it much as I want to be positive about my sway but of course there are times when I think what if it's going to be a boy... I've been reading those failed sways too and it always makes me sad for those people not getting their DG and it makes me very nervous about my sway. I have decided that during my sway I'm trying to be positive and when I get pregnant I start preparing myself for a third boy. DH is worried that what if our sway fails and how I will cope. I have two boys name
that I like but haven't thought about girls names, too scared to do that.
XX thanks for that! I needed that to stay positive! It's good to remember to keep up with the diet, exercise and one attempt until bfp
My friend had her first baby yesterday. Before she got pregnant she told she only wants girls. They were team green but she was sure the baby was a girl. I was convinced it was a girl. But it's a boy. I hope she is ok. She sent me a message that the baby is so tiny and lovely and she seemed very happy. I'm just so used to that everybody gets a girl around me so I was very surprised this friend had a boy.
I'm waiting for my +opk so we can have our first attempt. I'm going to o later than normally. I'm on cd17. Today I had some color on the opk test line as it was almost white before. So I guess I will have +opk soon, atleast I really hope so!2010 (confirmed boy)

Don't worry if you can't hack the exercise psophia! Just work your way up to being strict with the limits of the LE diet (remember there are NO forbidden foods! [emoji3]).

Oh and just a gentle reminder- don't feel like you have to add supplements to your sway beyond fiber and folic acid/folate. I made that mistake with myoinositol (Pregnitude) and it had dire consequences on my fertility and sway. Just read my sway and you won't be tempted! If you don't have a specific health condition, or if Atomic/your doctor hasn't recommended it- stay away from it!
Also, if you are the kind of boy mom that has a competitive nature or tried to control your environment, please don't treat your sway as ,"if I do X,Y, and Z just right then I'll get my DD", or don't view it as a competition with yourself to keep doing better. I fell into this trap last time and I completely missed the whole point!!
Basically don't do what I did and you'll have a better chance! I learned the hard way! Even my poor DH tried to tell me to let things go, he didn't mean the diet, exercise, or one attempt, he meant all the other stuff and my attitude towards TTCing. I also think the opks and temping fueled the competitive nature/obsessing over trying to do things just right.
If you've made it this far, thanks for reading!!! I just want to help anyway I can [emoji6]!

Anyone planning a Sept/Oct/Nov 2015 sway? Chat here!
No it doesn't at all! You'll see in some of the threads that I was always on the hunt to do better and to try and fix what never needed fixing to begin with. I was a hot mess!!
I would say that I DID stick to the limits of the diet, exercise, and one attempt. I talked about BDing every three days or everyday through fertile window, but my DH didn't want to. He wanted to stick to what works. Basically, I should've listened to my DH!!
I'm always here to help anyway I can! I've been on the boards for a while and am an old hat at this!! Plus, if I can help someone avoid the traps and mistakes I fell into and made then it was worth it!!

I'm not tracking my limits, found it too much work/stressful and quite hard when making home made meals. I've just reduced everything and cut out snacking and am almost totally vegetarian now. Think I'm doing ok, lost an Ok amount of weight and still able to function! Fitting into pre children clothes for th first time! It took a good month or two to get used to the reduced amounts and fasting but finding it ok now.
Good luck 2xblue. The only thiNg I'm a bit stressy about is missing positive opk. Hope you get yours v soon! I'm asking DH to abstain but unpredictability of when I will ovulate might make this difficult to time?
So many little girls being born at the moment. im like you 2xblue, for the first time ever I'm being positive about my chances but know I will be preparing myself for hearing "it's a boy" once I get BFP!3 beautiful boys, longing for a sister for them to complete our family
One HT attempt in U.S. April 2015, all abnormals.
Now preparing to sway.
