    Question regarding my situation

    HI!!! I've got a question!

Just wondering what your take is on my situation- I am thinking of going to an RE, although I don't know how much one could help me since I could only afford maybe one IUI if I needed. I have an amazing doctor who only practices gyn at this point, but she has been sort of "watching" over me and helping me along in this journey.

So, I am 35 and my DH is 39. My daughters are from a previous husband, and I had no trouble getting pg or with the pregnancies at all. I was 26 and 29 when they were born. We've been ttc for over a year now, and have had 2 m/c, one at 5wks in January, and one at 10wks (empty sac) in May. I took 3 months off after that and then started 50mg of Clomid last month. I just had my 2nd round, and am thinking it didn't work again. I am 12dpo, but still having negative tests and I'm not feeling pg at all. My doctor knows I do ovulate, but she thought we'd try the lowest dose of Clomid to see if it helped a more mature egg come out.

I've had FSH (7), progesterone, thyroid, prolactin, and the clotting panel done, and all checked out great. I am thinking that I should have my DH do the SA at this point, even though he's gotten me pg a couple of times now. He is a ballet dancer and wears restrictive clothing, which is not my favorite thing, but does take steps to cool himself down like boxers, etc. Also, he had a testicular tortion about 10 years ago from lifting a heavy ballerina, but the doctor told him it would not affect his fertility. He has quit smoking about 2 months ago, thankfully. I have had him on a slew of supplements that are supposedly good for sperm: folic, zinc, L-Arginine, L-Cartinine, Antioxidants, pumpkin seed oil, vitamin E, vitamin D....a multivitamin also.

What are your thoughts at this juncture? I REALLY appreciate your help, and am so glad you are here! Thank you!

Hi LolalnLove I am sorry I took a while to answer I have not been feeling well and I somehow missed your post.

I am sorry about your miscarriages, not only on a professional level but on a personal level as I suffered 5

At this point, I would get done a SA done as I believe firmly in male testing to rule out any male factor issues.

Also, do not lose hope 12 DPO in some instances will not result in a Positive pregnancy test. My fingers and toes are crossed for you.

Firstly, in relation to Clomid although this wonderful drug has helped many people to conceive it can also hinder fertility and if you are ovulating it may not be the best thing . Clomid can thin lining which hinders implantation, generally I prescribe Estradiol to thicken the lining, occasionally I will add other drugs with Clomid.

    Other things :

Now, the testicular torsion should not impact fertility. I have had a couple of test results from my male patients that had torsions and found a lower sperm density but normal volume and motility.

All the supplements you have him on a great, I would think about adding Pycnogenol, Testofen, Korean and Siberian
    Ginseng.

For yourself, I would seriously think about Acupuncture and immediately start on Folinic Acid, ALA, DHA, CQ10, B12 & B6 and I am thinking MACA.

Have you used Pre-seed I am a total fan of this product.

I am sure I can assist you if the SA is all okay to increase your fertility and assist you in some protocols to prevent further miscarriages.

I am still hoping for your BFP. Big Hugs Dr. H

THANK YOU!!!! I am so sorry you aren't feeling well and hope it passes quickly!

I am 14dpo today and anticipate AF any time. I got a negative test yesterday, but I am on progesterone (100mg suppository) and am still taking it. I use very sensitive tests, so I am thinking I'm out, but I guess you never know. I am hoping I get a late bfp myself!

I agree, I am thinking I should rule out male factor issues, but my doctor says only if it makes us feel better. She is not very concerned with this, as she says he's gotten me pregnant 3 times already....although no live baby.

Should I see if my doctor will give me Estriadol to begin with this next round of Clomid? A infertility patient friend also suggested a possible switch to Femara. Do you prefer one over the other?

I do use and love preseed, and I take guifanesin to thin out cm as well. We also used instead cups this past month, which I slept in all night. We dtd every other day starting at CD6 or so....I did read your post about male fertility boosters.

Also, I did try acupuncture for 3 months, but the woman I went to asked me to not try for 6 months while she treated me, and I didn't think with my age that I had the luxury of that kind of time. I could start back, but I am unwilling to not try in the meantime.....this lady was great and in walking distance to my office, which was excellent, but also $90 for a 30 minute session. I know you are a big fan of TCM. I do practice yoga and have begun to work out again. For a long time there, I did not as the goal (from another swaying website) was to gain weight for a boy, eating as much red meat, salt, and potassium-laden foods as possible. I gained about 35 lbs, although it is dropping off again now that I have quit that diet about 5 months ago.

So, the plan is to do the SA on Monday if AF comes in the next couple of days and I am not pregnant. If that turns out ok, I would love to have your help with fertility and m/c prevention!

I cannot thank you enough for lending your expertise here on this site for us. I am so grateful for your time, thank you!!!

    Feel better soon~

Happy to help, I am still feeling yuk That diet really concerns me and I am so glad you have stopped!!! You will end up with high blood pressure. I am feeling a bit yuk at this minute but there as some self acupuncture you can do and a specific massage that sometimes has improved results, I believe in giving all safe things a go! Femara is good, but Clomid is great when you have Estradiol. Has your lining being checked? during the Clomid cycles? There is natural alternative that sometimes people use with Clomid and it is called PABA. But I would stick to proper Estradiol. Hugs Dr H

Thanks for your response....I am again sorry you are under the weather! Yes, that diet was awful and I knew I had to quit it after a while. I have not had my lining checked while on the Clomid, but am about to probably start another round....I may call my doctor and see if I can get some Estradiol. Or maybe the PABA? I have read about that before as a good fertility booster. When you are up to it, I would love to hear about the self massage and accupuncture techniques....I bet a lot of gals would be interested in reading that!
