I can't see how carrying either gender could CAUSE it? it's a pregnancy reaction in general isn't it and wouldn't be affected by the tiny amount of baby's hormone that makes its way into your body?

Personally I don't think it's gender related, but the ones I know had girls.

The one lady I know who had it had one of each!!! I think Tamara had it too and she has both.
I almost had gestational diabetes in my last pg because I had two placentas - I guess when I took my sugar test (failed the first one) I wasn't making any sense when they talked to me after I drank the first sugar water, and they all thought I was going to fail it, but it was just that since I had two placentas my body took longer to clear out the sugar from my system for some reason. By the time I drank the second drink I was back to normal again and my test results were perfectly fine. My doctor told me that the placentas are what make the stuff that gives you the gestational diabetes so since I had two, it took longer to lower my sugar levels than it should have, but as long as they went down in the end within the hour, that was all that counted. Anyway, long story there but my point is that leads me to believe it is just the pg itself and not gender related.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

My mum had it with my little sister but not with me. I was also thinking it wouldn't be gender related but there does seem to be a pattern...
