Well, they say you need a count of like 10m at the lowest to do IUI. !!!! Seriously, every thing/story I've seen regarding a less than 2m count has success only with ICSI. I am hoping we get the analysis in the mail soon so I can see everything. I mean, if he had a lower amount in there and all, maybe that has to do with it. I don't know. I am going to send it to my good doc once I get it to see what she thinks.

Lola I am still wondering if it's a fluke?? What are the chances of that? It seems so bizarre since you HAVE gotten PG... and nothing has really changed for him health-wise. You should receive the report any day, right?

Yes, they would only tell me the count part over the phone, but the whole thing is coming in the mail. Apparently it is entered into some database, and the clinicians enter the findings one by one or something. I asked what the motility was, and she said that info "wasn't entered yet." I will certainly let you all know once I get it. Hopefully will be today.

It could very well have been a fluke. I had his release 48 hours earlier so they were fresh, which is actually what they recommended- 2 to 3 days abstinence. I am also wondering if the "excitement" level adds to the sample, ya know? He had to do it without any lube or anything, totally dry, and make sure it all went into the tiny little cup.....and our DD2 had just barfed at school and he had to get her and then put her in front of the tv while he did his business, then take her with him to deliver it to the lab right away. Probably not the best of circumstances, but I figured a sample is a sample. Now I'm wondering if he could, um, shoot a better one under different circumstances, like if we are having a rollicking good time in the sack, kwim?

Lola you know, there's a study on here ... or if not on here, on the internet, that has been referenced here. I need to find it, but it does say there is a SIGNIFICANT difference in sperm count from actual intercourse and ... um, imaginary . I will look for that later today when I might have more time. Anyhow I'm sure it's hard to have the hope this cycle, but we've said it a million times lately ...He HAS gotten you pregnant before ... there is NO reason that this cycle couldn't be another time. So personally I'm going to keep hoping for THIS month to be your month

Iluv is your scan today?!? Fingers crossed that you see a perfectly healthy little blessing in there! And maybe even a nub if you're lucky Can't wait to see a pic! On the bellies thing, I carried both of my girls really high. Like I could still wear normal non-mat pants the whole time.

That reminds me! I was going to take a belly pic today I need to be better about that; I have 1 or 2 from each of my previous pregnancies and that is it. And I did decide that I am for sure having an elective u/s, not to find out gender, but bc I realized I don't have video of any of my babies in the womb and I want that for at least one. My doc's office doesn't provide it so I'm going to do a private one later.

Lola- I just want to say wait 4 days before you dtd but at least 3! Back when I was always checking DH sample he always had the most amount with 4 days abst.

WP-I'd skip the temping while camping and stickto the opk's. Opk's never lie but your temps will just screw with you.

Kris- nothing like an u/s to get kids and partners excited, glad everyone is so giddy!

Lola- I could definitely see the circumstances being a problem. Giving a sample is pressure enough but throw in the rest he had to deal with and holy cow pressure! I'm all for retesting and hoping it goes more smoothly for him.

Holy crap 3 more days! I'm trying to keep myself busy and distracted but it's so hard. I keep thinking in a few days I'll either be elated or disappointed, not terribly disappointed but still. DD is holding strong that it's a boy, this makes keeping my hopes under control extra hard. I almost want to find out just to be put out of my misery lol

Thanks, B....I hope you are right and maybe we will have a good month. I am feeling a tiny bit better about it since I am liking our bd pattern, feeling pretty solid in it. Please do post a belly pic!!!!

Hey everyone!

Lola, I think your BD plan sounds good--and I like what begonia said about the count being higher with "real" sex. Hopefully that's true for your DH especially. Also, I wonder, like everyone else, if doing another SA might be a good idea? Like getting a second opinion? Who knows, there could have been a screw up in the lab or something.

As far as the belly theory, I think it all has to do with your muscle tone. I carried low with #1 (girl) and then progressively lower each pregnancy. My 3rd was ridiculously. My belly was HANGING. EVERYONE told me I was having a boy. And she was a girl.

Okay, so AF arrived today. That means I will probably O around Oct. 4-5. I am afraid to TTC this cycle, though, because we had gone to the hot springs back in July, and those sperm will still be forming until Oct 2. So if I want to avoid the hot springs sperm, I need to wait until Oct 3, I think? But that doesn't leave me many days if I wanted to do it for several times leading up to O. UGH! I am so frustrated with my cycle! If I hadn't O'ed early last month, I would have been in the clear!

Would you guys TTC anyway? I guess I have to see when I get my first +opk. I hope that I O late this cycle!!!!
