I didn't see it mentioned in this thread, but alcohol interferes with absorption of nutrients and is why chronic alcoholics have malnutrition problems. Just a guess, but my thoughts are that alcohol might help sway pink by reducing overall nutrients in the body.

I was a moderate drinker and often had a beer or wine with dinner or a nightcap (usually whiskey) around the time I conceived both of my boys. I was also very healthy and nowhere near being an alcoholic. I would think you would really have to be a problem drinker for it to mess with your health enough to sway pink but that's just a guess.

Remember, people got boys and girls before the invention of alcohol, crystal light, cranberries, and Fertile CM.

I was just thinking, you know how in the middle ages everyone supposedly only drank weak ale/watered wine (bc they didn't have clean water, or sewers etc and had poor sanitation), does anyone know how alcoholic those beverages typically were by %? I wonder if it might have affected gender ratios at the time, or if other factors (like those being wealthy enough to afford more alcohol having richer, boy friendly diets) would have balanced things out?

I wish it was as easy as "drink for a girl". I've got two boys and basically never drink. I hate the feeling of being drunk, so I may never get a girl!

I did not drink at all and my husband at the time was not a drinker either before I conceived my first son, but I got pregnant with him at 19 so I wasn't even legal yet, LOL!
With my second son, my hubby was a big drinker, almost every night, but I really wasn't at all.
Now I'm TTC a girl and I'm practically bordering on alcoholicI'm kidding but I definitely drink moderately. I get drunk just about every weekend (usually on vodka) and I drink on most weekdays too even if just a couple of steel reserves, hard cider or "straw-ber-itas".
