I'm ramping up from pretty much no exercise to trying to do the 60 minutes 5-6x/week. My question is, how hard a workout does it need to be? Today was my first day, and I did 45 minutes on the treadmill and went 2.5 miles. So I wasn't going very fast...I was a little sweaty but I didn't push myself. Recently I went to a fitness "boot camp" and was really huffing and puffing; feeling like I was going to puke and was sore for nearly a week afterwards! Clearly I'm out of shape. Just wondering, for swaying purposes, if you need to push yourself or how hard you need to work out. Thanks!

Well there are ladies getting girls just by walking an hour a day so I don't think you need to be falling over in exhaustion. lol I slowly increased my speed over time so I could adjust since I wasn't used to exercising. I usually work up a bit of a sweat on my bike so I feel like it's enough of a workout for me.

Just get your heart rate up. It does NOT need to be intense. How long at a time you exercise for matters much more than intensity.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Thanks for clearing this up I also wondered how intense it has to be I don't 60 mins today on stationery bike I was sweating ( my tummy was dripping ! Tmi!) but I didn't push it hard the full 60 mins but was just hoping the 60 min thing counts the most xxx

Don't worry about what anyone else is doing. All it has to be is intense for YOU. Even walking is fine, you don't have to be dying or anything when you're done. In fact, I find people who push too hard end up injured and unable to do anything. So start off doing less than you think you should and then work up from there. As long as it goes 60 minutes, that's what matters most (although to start obviously if you can only do 45 that's ok). Swaying is a journey not a destination, so just keep moving in the direction of pink and that is what counts.

Daily endurance cardio? Sounds less intense and includes the implication of one big block of time.

I too wondered about this. I am doing 60 - 65 minutes on the elliptical 5 -6 days a week. I'm not falling over in exhaustion, but do feel it. I also wondered about the muscle thing: if the aim is to lose muscle mass, surely daily exercise helps create muscle? I don't get it! (Sorry - I'm being stupid here, but I don't really understand it!)

honeybee37, it is quite difficult for most women to build muscle in ideal scenarios, but on the LE diet which is low in protein it's virtually impossible. You may APPEAR more muscular due to fat loss revealing muscle beneath, but the muscle will still break down without extra protein to maintain, let alone increase the mass.
