Coffee is supposed to sway pink and tea sways blue. Atomic doesn't know the reasons exactly so it may not be the caffeine in coffee that sways because there is caffeine in tea too.
Obviously lots of women who drink coffee still have boys and lots that drink tea have girls (my mum is a massive tea drinker and had 2 girls) but the stats show some sway factor for each drink.

Maiden, have you been using an anonymous donor sperm at the moment? I agree with the others that is would probably be a bad idea to ask. I'm sorry it is so hard to find a known donor. My sister will also be having a baby at some point with donor sperm but she will have to get it anonymously as the close male friend she has didn't want to donate (I'm not sure the reasons). She has already been advised that the best option is to use IVF as they don't like to waste donor sperm on insemination, but it is hard to get donors in Australia because they are not allowed to be paid.

IMO Tea is more blue friendly because it often contains antioxidants and/or herbs. Coffee is basically devoid of nutrients making it more pink, plus I think some people use it to curb hunger which would also sway pink because that would decrease caloric intake. Coffee also tends to have more caffeine in it than tea and most people usually just have a small cup of tea versus a large cup (or 2 or 3+) of coffee which I believe to be more pink friendly since caffeine in large amounts is unhealthy. Just my two cents on the coffee vs. tea debate.

My husband is a huge caffeine drinker, a couple large cups of coffee a day, then usually a Rockstar energy drink every work day as well, then in the evening he drinks iced tea. This does not bode well for my blue sway
But I guess you can't control everything but I don't drink caffeine at all, minus maybe one cup of RRL tea a day, so maybe I can counteract him, lol.

beautifulainbow, I would not base anything on MY symptoms bc I am a freak of nature, but since many people do get symptoms on Clomid the fact that you didn't notice any may mean it had less of an effect. But even though you Oed late, maybe you wouldn't have Oed at all without the clomid? So I wouldn't necessarily assume NO effect.
I would NEVER EVER use a anonymous sperm donor. Sperm banks don't provide enough info for me - I have to meet the man in person. I was created by AI using a known donor (who WAS married with a child at the time), so I know how lucky I am to have known my bio father. I think it is extremely unethical IMO to have children without allowing them contact with their genetic parents.
When I was married I think I would have been okay with my DH giving sperm to a friend, provided I approved. But I know I don't have a 'normal' attitude, I am very difficult to offend, so unfortunately I'm not surprised to hear your opinions. I definitely don't want to offend anyone...and I appreciate the honesty. Though I really wonder if you were in my shoes, would you be happy to use anonymous sperm? Also frozen sperm is not nearly as good as fresh.
I am currently using a known donor but he is not ideal and has a genetic form of hypothyroidism. My other option is to try to pick up guys at clubs...I would have to be totally upfront which is a little awkward! I think it's worth trying, I'd be doing it already if my pain were more manageable.Last edited by maidentomother; January 20th, 2016 at 10:14 AM.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

I'm all for using a sperm donor you know. I totally get that for sure. But it's def not going to be my husband! I think it's more appropriate to use someone single OR if you want to use a married mans sperm you talk to his wife and him, not just him. That's just my two cents! I would just struggle knowing my husband has another child with another women. All with good intention of course. No foul play. I would just struggle with the idea of that. Personally.

Totally appreciate the honesty! I would never want to make another woman feel uncomfortable. I would never want to stress a marriage. I realise people can't help how they feel so even knowing it's good intentioned doesn't necessarily help.
I really like his wife too, so I'd especially not want to upsrt her.
