Seitan / wheat meat / wheat gluten

    Hi,
I forgot to include this in my earlier post - What does everyone think about Seitan? It's derived from the protein portion of wheat and also known as wheat gluten. It's low in calories and protein levels is similar to lean meats (need to watch limits). I think the protein is different from the protein you get from animals. Also low in fat. Any thoughts? Does anyone eat it? Need to be careful with the canned ones too - it has a lot of sodium (too much!) Thanks!

IMO you might better off with soya-based meat replacers as soya isn't great for fertility. Atomic will know though & hopefully see this thread.

I think it's fine is small amounts for pink, kept within limits for protein. Unless you have or suspect gluten sensitivity, or have PCOS, in which case gluten consumption could possibly sway blue. Otherwise there is no issue with it other thsn it being so high in protein. And yes, protein from plant sources is more pink friendly.

    ok in dietary amounts

don't worry about sodium, most of us completely have given up on that and success rates only go up and up since then
