Lauren, I would have you switch to the PCOS version of the LE diet for sure then. We are now advising anyone who even suspects they might have PCOS tendencies to do the alternate diet. For one thing, you're best off only having whole grains (except for rice, white rice is fine) and you need a bit more fat and protein than on the standard LE.

It's fantastic that you're exercising. I believe cardio has an even stronger pink sway effect in those with PCOS/tendencies.

You may O later than average (CD18 or later on a CD3-7 regimen) on Clomid due to PCOS, or you may need a higher dose in order to O sooner. I think any pink swayer who has PCOS tendencies should take Clomid or Femara if they can get it bc the drugs have been shown to sway strongly pink for such women.

currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Thank you! Due to working out, I've been upping my fat and protein a bit so I might b okay. If we don't get the egg, I will ask to up my dude. I'll take a OPK in a bit and hope they've faded. Maybe today is O day. That would make yesterday's early morning attempt good, although I didn't have hardly any ew left.

ksmom - honestly, I would get checked for those big 3 deficiencies then, unless you know that you are getting adequate amounts based on tracking your meals. Since iron and vitD deficiency can both cause fertility issues those would concern me especially. You may also not absorb as much of the nutrients you do consume due to celiac. How severe is your case?

As you probably know, rice based/GF foods like pasta and bread are MUCH less nutritious than the wheat versions, not only bc they aren't fortified but bc wheat has so many more nutrients than rice. Do you eat much fullfat dairy? Whole eggs? Nuts?

Lauren, I'd still switch over fully to the PCOS LE, but I'm glad to hear that you've been eating more fat & protein anyway.

I do think you probably need a higher dose based on those dark OPKs, your cycle irregularity/tendency to O late, and just the fact that you haven't Oed yet on 50mg. Are you on CD17 or 18 today?

Re: EWCM, always keep in mind that if you see ANY amount of EWCM when wiping or on your panties, it means there is some at your cervical opening. Even when you seem dry there is usually CM up there around O time. And the CM at your cervix is what really matters, in terms of keeping sperm alive and odds of conception.

I'm on cd18.... I'm totally vegetarian since being on LE. That prob doesn't help much.

Maiden at the time of my diagnosis my symptoms were severe and I had quite a bit of intestinal damage but that was several years ago. My disease has been well under control since then as I've been very strict about eating gluten free.

I don't eat nuts but I do eat eggs every once in awhile (not very often though). For awhile I was eating full fat yogurt but I stopped. I don't really know why...I think I just got bored with it. lol I do occasionally eat cheese. My diet may just be too limited to the point of not getting what I need. DH thinks eating vegetarian isn't healthy for me so he's been saying I should eat meat again but I'm not sure if I want to or not.

Lauren, I'd consider at least swapping out any lowfat/fat free dairy for full fat and eating 4 eggs a week in addition to switching to all whole grains (white rice being ok). If you're ok adding meat, have small servings of chicken up to 3x a week. I personally think it's extra protein, whole grains and plenty of fruit and veg that PCOS needs most.

ksmom, yeah, I'd 100% get those 3 deficiencies checked! And ask if there are any others that are commonly found in celiac patients. I don't necessarily think you need meat, as I know several healthy vegetarian celiacs, including women, but I do think you might increase your consumption of nutrient rich food like egg yolk, nuts, and full fat dairy. Just increase your daily minimums of fat & protein from the aforementioned 3 sources. Though you might also be a good candidate for the PCOS LE. I don't think it would hurt to switch and it may help if you do need extra nutrition.

I'm glad you've got the GF diet down. It's quite a change to make. I do 'almost' GF for DF and it's not easy. Or cheap!

Thank you Maiden! I will definitely get my vitamin levels checked. I haven't really been tracking my totals since my last chemical and honestly my body could probably benefit from that since I was strict with the diet for so long. I'll incorporate eggs and nuts into my diet so hopefully that will help me get whatever nutrients I'm lacking. I'm going to look at the PCOS version later and see if I want to go with that instead. It may be better given how limited my diet was to start with.

I agree, going GF is not easy nor is it cheap!! Our grocery bill can get out of hand at times with all the specialty items I have to buy. As of late, I've been trying to buy things like rice pasta in bulk to save money. GF bread is way overpriced for what you get but I'm forced to buy it as I'm no good at making my own. At least rice is cheap. haha

Good luck Kmomofthree! Baby dust to you
