cmiller, high estrogen levels leading up towards O cause the cervix to soften and become more irritable. That causes spotting and is actually quite common, as well as totally normal.

essnce, that's a scary story! I wonder if you are like me in terms of iron? For some reason I just don't absorb iron properly unless it's from red meat. I've tried every iron supplement in existence over the past 2 decades with zero luck, they do nothing at all for my iron level. Only eating 1-2 good sized servings of red meat per month keeps my anemia away. Maybe your supplemental iron isn't enough?

Maiden, I think I absorb it but have to be good about splitting up the doses. You're not supposed to take iron supplements with dairy or coffee, which was hard so I was taking all my iron at night before bed and I probably wasn't able to absorb it all. My endo wants me taking it 3 times a day. I'm on prescription Ferrex Plus which includes vitamin C. I tried it first thing in the morning since I don't eat or drink anything till at least 11am, but then I got nauseous. So I basically have 3 weeks to get it increased before my period comes and knocks my iron stores out again. It's like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. So I'm going to try really hard to take it 3 times a day and we'll retest again in 3 months like always. And I'm definitely eating red meat again since my miscarriage. I probably eat it twice a week, usually in the form of ground beef. The steaks I save for after O! When my iron was super low (under 8) I was craving crayons and literally eating a crayon a day! It was bad! I've had the crayon craving at least 3 times over the past decade so my iron has probably been chronically low forever. Ideally I would go back on the pill and have super light periods and build up my iron stores, but that's obviously not in the plan! I'm hoping to not feel exhausted all the time once my ferritin is over 70.

I had an ultrasound done today to see why I was spotting last cycle not anymore this cycle, I'm on cd 8 af came 3 days early this cycle.
I do have a left ovary cyst which I get sometimes I had them with all my pregnancies.

But doc said my lining seem a little thick to be on cd 8 and isn't sure if something on lining a plyop or not, I'm so sad!! She said if I don't get pregnant this cycle they are doing an ultrasound with water? Next cycle to see more clear. I never had an ultrasound without being pregnant so I'm not sure if that normal for me or not. I did have miscarriage in October, I always get pregnant quickly.

Anyone have any experience with this

essnce, I never realised how lucky I am to have short, light AFs. Thank you for giving me that appreciation. I hope you get your girl soon so you can stop menstruating.

Princess, I have no clue I'm sorry.

Thank you so much for all the advice ladies!

Essnce, wow! I'm so sorry you've been struggling with your iron levels like that. I can't imagine! Last month Atomic had me start on iron because I was feeling more tired than usual and was getting lightheaded. I've been taking it every day since then and those symptoms have eased up a lot so it's likely I am iron deficient. When I was pregnant with DS2 I had my iron levels checked and they were perfect BUT I was definitely eating red meat, lots of dark leafy greens since I craved them, and a prenatal with extra iron in it. That was also a few years ago so obviously my iron levels can change in that time.

Anyone ever have uterine fibroids or pylops?
I'm only 28 and I was just recently pregnant why would I have this?
Doc said to wait till next cycle to do saline ultrasound to see if there are any present, why wouldn't she done that this cycle?

Princess I've never had that but I would definitely call and ask why it couldn't have been done at this visit.

AFM- super sticky cm today and my OPK went negative so I'm really hoping for O tonight. That would give it attempt about 36 hrs.

Sorry that some of you are having problems with low iron, it's not fun feeling tired & yucky.

Princess - sorry I've never had uterine polyps or fibroids. Hope dr can get to the bottom of whatever is going on. Sucks you have to wait until next cycle, but like Lauren said maybe call & ask them or make another appointment to request it be done asap.

Lauren - sounds like you have o'd or will today.

Pinkin - looks positive to me.

My opk is negative today. Sometimes it is pos 2 days in a row & then I o the day it goes negative. We bd last night but not this morning, kids were up too early. I am hoping dh can call in between jobs today so we can bd, but otherwise it won't be until tonight. Was really hoping I would o tomorrow. If I o today it will only be 2 attempts. Haven't been exercising much & I haven't been snacking as much as I am starting to stress about my weight. But what is done is done & I can't change it now.
