Remember though, we don't even KNOW that building muscle even sways blue. That is just a guess. We KNOW that exercise sways pink, so I hate to see everyone get so fearful of the theory of building muscle, that they lose sight of doing what is actually working - exercising.

It is really tough for women to add muscle even under ideal circumstances and on LE diet and losing at least a little weight, it is biologically impossible.

thanks so much. Is anyone doing zumba? I will probably stick mainly to running/ speed walking and I too am thinking about doing 3 days exercise 1 day off 3 days exercise. Mentally and physically that will be easier. One last question - why is it is so important to do a minimum of 60minutes? I've read that is when we start burning fat and all that... how about 55 minutes? I guess on the safe side do 65minutes? thanks ladies!

Yes a lot of people have done zumba.

I have to pick a number to go for. Is it really any different between 55 and 60 minutes, probably not, but it's only 5 minutes, why not go for it?

MyByC - the hardest part for me is snacking after the run. I eat 2-3 animal crackers after that!

I think it's fine to eat a little something before or a little something after. Just not both or during.

What we need to avoid is being SOOO dedicated that we end up doing harm to ourselves (by keeling over fainting from low blood sugar) or making ourselves so miserable that we can't stick with the diet in the longer term.

thanks atomic. Question - i started the diet maybe 3 weeks in and probably wont TTC til end of May or June. More like June. I've lost a few lbs already which surprised me. Should I slow down or eat a little more? I could lose a few more lbs but i dont want to lose it all this month and next! Vegetarian diet, 60minutes exercise, skip breakfast (only a cup of coffee +2 tbsp cream + splenda). Haven't started on folic acid or fiber yet. Should I incorporate fiber?

Today I have both boys at home as it is the holidays and we've just done a big two hour walk in the park. It's all I'll be able to do today and it wasn't exactly speed walking as my four year old had to stop and look at quite a few things but it'll have to do! Some days I'm better than others. When they're at school I do 65min cross trainer but it's way harder when they're at home all day. I always say I'll exercise in the evening but by the time the bedtime marathon is over I am so flaked!

I would up your calories a by if you've lost a lot and need to wait until June. I've lost a lot and don't want to lose much more at all (bmi 19 now).

Atomic, do you know if psyllium husk is ok for fibre? I've been taking chitosan but it gives me stomach ache!

Psyllium husk is great for fibre. Many use it including myself. Sounds like you had a good walk!
