Yeah Purple - im a snacker. And now that i know i should not (cannot) snack in between meals im constantly opening and closing the cupboards! Bad habit but i seem to be coping ok. Didnt help that DH bought me chocolates for Valentines dayI would usually sit with some tea and have some biscuits mid morning and even in the afternoon.. anyway.. i havent eaten meat in over a year so i can pretty much give up anything if i put my mind to it!
Thanks - we have some time.. I was originally going to start as far back as 5 day cut off.. but ive since brought it to 3 day cur off. That is where i am at, at the moment.. This could change - im still working on my plan whilst trying to keep it simple.
I see you have a bun in the oven - congratulations!!

No, ovuation has been proven time and again to be IMPOSSIBLE to pinpoint even for highly trained experts with good level of technology. They got it within a few days but beyond that it was random chance, about 1 out of 3 times correct.
What you are reporting is actually a variation of normal and I also often dry up 1-2 days before O. On the cycle I conceived my daughter, the opposite happened and I had EwCM for 2 days after (and subsequently have noticed both variations happen off and on) THe idea that you can use CM or CP or temps or anything to pinpoint O even to the DAY, let alone the hour, has been totally debunked.
As long as you stick with that one attempt you can try whatever tactic you want. Personally, I got boys 3 days before O and my girl in the "boy timing" but I understand the wish to leave no stone unturned.

That is only because so many people have heard of it. They just regurgitate the same info again and again even though Dr. Shettles has been 1000% proven to be wrong on what he observed. X is not slow and long lived, Y is not fast and short lived, HE MADE A MISTAKE. This has been proven in dozens of studies using the most cutting edge of technology. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/sway...m-y-sperm.html

There isn't that much conflicting info, there are all the people who just repackage the same thing again and again, and then me LOL. It is NOT that dozens of sources did separate investigations and all concluded the same thing, instead it's that several people just dug up Shettles and used it. and even those who did studies, did them trying to prove timing worked and did pretty cruddy studies because of that. The people who legitimately did study it, found results all over the map and debunked the whole thing.
remember, when it comes to doing the opposite, it only helps if the thing you're doing the opposite on actually swayed for you to begin with.
It's like going on the Atkins diet and if it doesn't work for you, you don't lose weight.deciding, Ok that must mean I have to do the opposite and now I"m going to eat nothing but birthday cake. It can end up even WORSE if you misdiagnose the problem and end up doing something that's even worse than what you did to begin with (like doing 3 attempts with a cutoff) that would only make MORE boys.
I BEG you not to start off doing a 5 day cutoff. It's next to impossible to conceive that far out under ideal circumstances, and swaying pink is NOT ideal circumstances. What invariably happens when you guys start off doing too much, too strict, is that you don't get pregnant and month after month goes by. Then, you've lost too much weight, your cycle goes nutty, and either you panic and stop swaying all togehter, or even have to basically sway BLUE just to get things going again.!!! Hi Atomic- ive spent more time on here reading and learning and im totally NOT going to do a 5 day cut off anymore. Infact im even thinking of tossing the 3 day cut off idea and going straight to DTD on +OPK. However now you've gone and given me something else to look out for - "count from first positive and NOT darkest"
I got the idea of the 5 day cut off from the book Choose the Sex of your baby, by Hazel Chesterman-Phiilps as she says with absolute certainty that is how she conceived both her girls and the opposite for her only son. INTERESTINGLY however!!!!! - when she had her girls, they had unprotected sex ONCE (on the 5th day of her cycle after AF).. anyway.. im not too bothered about timing anymore.. which for me is a big leap!

I personally experienced exactly what atomic is saying. To me the constant snacking, he diet and 2 attempts O-3 and and O -1 and I conceived both my boys. Dd I didn't snack, LE diet, skipped breakfast and 1 attempt with dump and jump. I wasn't swaying on any but I am a classic sway case. I'm swaying now ttc another dd. But no luck so far. But I'm 40 now, ugh! Good luck to you!!

Unless Hazel had ultrasound, bloodwork, or preferably both, to confirm the day of ovulation, no one has any way to prove whether she really had a 5 day cutoff or not. I'm skeptical as I have seen dozens of women try it and very few conceive that way.
I think the number of attempts thing is a pretty big discovery we've made here because it demonstrates how some of these BS methods that are complete nonsense, are appearing to work for people. Both timing and pH are nearly always done with one attempt for pink and for blue, most people take so long to get pregnant with one attempt on O they add attempts before they conceive.!!! Atomic hi - wanted to ask you re ovulation - could i assume having had ewcm and a positive opk on the same day and then totally dry thereafter - that, that day i ovulated? Or can one get a positive test then go completely dry the next day and ovulation may occur still within the next 2-3 days even though im totally dry and no other obvious signs?? I think you have said it doesnt matter in which order it all happens.. but i think im more wondering if one is still about to ovulate (after + OPK) even though your cm / ewcm has all dried up!!
