Hi all, I've only recently been looking into swaying for a girl (my husband doesn't know I'm worried he'll think I'm mad!) anyway I read this
.... if the fertilization takes place before the 14 day after your period or before your peak day in your ovulation period you have 90% of having a girl
Is this correct?

Hi! Not sure how that could be right because your peak day in ovulation would be ovulation day so fertilisation can't occur before the egg has been released? That is my take on this theory anyway.. Happy to be wrong though [emoji3]

I'm so confused with the whole timing thing! I've never used ovulation predictor kits and am not to start, how to I know when the best time is to sway pink??

I have no idea about who to believe about timing but after looking at all the sways and stats etc I have decided on just having one attempt.. Unsure as yet whether it will be at positive opk as suggested by Atomic in my plan or whether to try a cut off of 2ish days for the first month or so with still the one attempt.

That is completely false. Timing doesn't sway at all. Also, many women O much later than CD14 and would never be able to conceive either gender by that rationale. Plus PLENTY of women who O before CD14 have conceived boys, at least aa many as girls.
Diet and exercise are the biggest sway factors, followed by Clomid/Femara (for pink) and number of BD attempts in your fertile period, whenever that is.
What is the 'peak day' of O anyway? That doesn't even make sense. There ie only one day O occurs, the vast majority of the time (I.e. excluding hyperO). There is no such thing is an 'ovulation period'.Last edited by maidentomother; March 2nd, 2016 at 11:01 AM.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Fertilization cannot take place before the egg is released and that is the peak day (often CD 14.) If whoever made that method up would care to explain how an egg still in the ovaries could be fertilized I'm all ears.
I have a full discussion about timing and how it can't be swaying here.

[QUOTE=Mumma100y;806747]We are having good results with the every 4 day method which is just unprotected intercourse every 4 days starting after AF and going through ovulation. It's just an easy way of being sure you're in with one attempt in the fertile window (which does sway even though timing doesn't)

So I've seen that clear blue do OPK that tells you your 4 most fertile days so when swaying pink do you attempt to conceive every night of these four days??? Soooo confused!

No, if you're doing every 4 days that means you have an attempt, wait 4 days, then have another attempt.
OR, if you're doing Clearblues, then you could have an attempt on the first peak reading. Or, one of the "high" readings if you do want to do timing anyway.
The important thing is that you have only one BD in those fertile days. Not more than one. One attempt seems to sway strongly pink.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
