I know this isn't a specifically "girl" question but I wasn't sure where else it fit really.
I've read online that luteal phase is generally always around 14 days. Is that true? And is it necessarily important to know? I feel like I would like to know what mine is exactly. I've been going along as if it's 14 days just so I know when to expect my period.

It can vary. 14 days is the average but really anything from 10-16 days is common. Mine is 15 days. You don't have to know how long your LP is but it can help to know if it's too short or to know when to expect AF. The only way to really know how long your LP is to chart your temps.

Thanks for the response ksmom! I really don't think it's too short (have never miscarried, never had issues getting pregnant, period is always 6-7 days long) so I guess I'm probably fine not knowing for sure. I really want to avoid temping as I think it would just stress me out or make me anxious.

No, it's not true and no, it's not necessarily important to know. I have lived in a state of ignorant bliss regarding my LP for lo these many 33 years and never had a concern about it LOL.
Anything from 12-14 days is normal. 10-11 days is a teensy bit short when TTC but you can still get pregnant that way. 7-9 day LP is short, but can still end in conception. Shorter than that is pretty unusual.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
