Hi Pbn! I was almost in the same situation as you. I was TTC for 2 years with not one BFP. I was 337 or 38 when I started. I did end up seeing an RE and found out I have very low AMH .03 and elevated FSH...31, 23, etc. It does fluctuate each month. I was actually given clomid and just in my experience it didn't do well for me. I personally think femera is better for older women such as us, although we are not old. But hopefully it will work well for you. I think TTC naturally without IVF would most likely be your best option. Believe me, I do know how how mentally ans physically draining it is to keep going each month but like Atomic always says, all you need is one good egg. I just think you have to keep pushing through each month and be ready for when the "Goldie the Golden Egg "COMES! It will come!!
Don't be doscouraged! You can most likely get pregnant, just may take longer and it will all be worth it in the end!!
And after 2 years TTC I am finally 27 weeks pregnant with a girl! So it can definitely happen!!

Here is what you have to understand. Even with TERRIBLE numbers you do still occasionally make a good egg. You just have to be in position to catch it when it shows up. You actually have a BETTER chance at doing that naturally than with IVF because you can try every month and you only NEED one egg. Whereas with IVF, if the month you're scheduled to go, and you're on the meds and so on, and that is NOT one of the good months (because they know about .001% of how this all works, and the meds may make older women make bum eggs anyway) then that's it, if you can only afford a month or two or three, what if those months were not good ones for you? It is game over, then. Plus you miss out on all the time where you were pretesting or on BCP or waiting for transfer etc etc etc. Whereas with TTC naturally you have 12 shots every year.
A lot of doctors won't tell people this because "to the little boy with a hammer everything they see looks like a nail" but it is true. It's just as valid to take the "little engine that could" approach as to do IVF and in the majority of cases (exception those who are independently wealthy and can do a zillion rounds of IVF) you'll have a better chance coming out of it with a baby.!!! I agree with DJ I would recommend Femara in this case. Clomid can make FSH rise. But, a lot of women have used it and had success so it's really up to you, you can give it a try and see what happens, the FSH will go back down once you're off it.

Thanks everyone and IVF was never an option I was just saying initially that IVF was what I was reading other ladies with my results were doing.
I may not need to fill that clomid after all anyway. I got a very faint bfp this morning BUT I wont believe it unless I see tests darken over the next week. Been here done this before.
