My first I saw an OB who induced me at 39 weeks. No reason at all, I was young- 20 and just uneducated. I knew enough though that I didn't want an episiotomy and she cut me anyway. It didn't turn out horribly or anything but didn't sit well with me that she did something I specifically didn't want. And then after educating myself a ton for my second birth it made me mad looking back that she even induced me at all. There was no reason for it. That was when we lived in Orange County.
So for my second and third I had the up here in northern ca at a hospital but naturally with midwives. Both experiences were great.
But that hospital is a good 30 min away and I would like to be more in town this time.

LoveRR congrats. I'm having genetic testing done at 10.5 weeks and should know the next week.
My baby waved at me today! I'm only 8.5 weeks but as soon as she did the u/s we could see a little limb moving. How can something the size of a raspberry have arms?!?!

We are driving an hour and 15 min to our hospital... Would love to just have a 30 min drive! This is for all of my appts as well.. But with insurance and reputation of providers they are the best. A little nervous because I didn't even feel labor with my dd and she was here only 8 hrs after being at the hospital. I really don't want to deliver in the car... Ha!

My last labor was 3 hours from the very first contraction to birth... part of the reason why I'm hesitant to drive just the 30 min, ha

Funny ladies! I love birth stories. Yes we were in the hospital less than 2 hours last time and I was in no rush to get to the hospital so I had no idea I was nearing transition when we got there! My midwife was a bit shocked. My husband and I are a bit concerned about timing this time..I like staying home as long as possible but I think this time we'll have to jam as soon as contractions start.
Blue bear, now my 30 minute drive seems like nothing. Lol! That's a heavy commitment but I get it because even if mine was an hour away I would probably stick with them..they're really the best aside from hiring midwives to birth at home and we just can't financially justify that right now. Plus if I'm being really honest I actually like being waited on hand and foot for 24 hours while I adjust. LolMama to one 6 yr oldand one 20 month old

Hah, exactly. Homebirth is appealing to me but one of my reservations is that that would mean I wouldn't have a night or two to adjust to the tiny babe before being thrown back into the chaos of my boys lol.

Does anyone have an idea of what the gender is? After two girls, I can't imagine having anything different. I have a friend that's due when I am and she's sure it's a boy. I wish I felt that way. I'm petrified it's another girl. I would obviously love her but
I know my dh would be heartbroken.

Congrats, LoveRR! I had the panorama test done at 9 weeks to get genetic testing and the gender. I'm so glad I did it early. I know with my last boy we had swayed girl and didn't find out he was a he until 20 wks. I wish I'd had more time to adjust to it before he came. I feel like--even though I love him to pieces!--I was slower to bond with him than my previous boys.
