Have you Oed? Could you be pregnant? Do you have PCOS? Irregular cycles? Taking Vitex, Saw Palmetto, or drinking peppermint tea?
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

You can't bring on a period, it will come 14 days after you O. I have seen nothing but bad results trying to bring it on with unnatural means (liek herbs and stuff). The only things I ever recommend are hot bath, spicy meal esp. invoving garlic, and sex with female O.
with reducing exercise and increasing fat. When you say "increase" can you please spell that out for me?? AS in, if you were eating 10 grams of fat and are now eating 20, that is still not gonna be enough.

Thank you for replying
I'm not taking peppermint tea and I have been having blood tests done to determine when I'm ovulating and will continue until the clinic determines when I'm actually ovulating, they haven't picked up anything yet nor have I had positive ovulation strips or change in temperature.I did take taking vitex again in hope it would regulate my cycles.I stopped for a while and starting taking it two weeks ago.I have only had irregular cycles the last 3 cycles. This is by far the most irregular and I have been testing for pregnancy for the last two weeks with negative tests. Its weird I'm experiencing cramps, which almost feels like its coming but nothing happens.I will try a hot bath and some spicy food.I have increased at least 10g of fat from 50, now sitting at 60g (still from peanut butter, mayo, extra yoghurt). In regards to PCOS all my scans and hormone testing(bloodworks) come back fine, although they did find numerous cysts on my right ovary, which have reduced from 30 at one stage.

What is your BMI/height and weight?
You can't get a period until you O. You may get some spotting/light bleeding I.e. breakthrough bleeding, but you won't get a proper AF so absolutely no point trying to bring it on. Instead you want to bring on O! Csn you get meds to help with that? Has your dr suggested a plan of action? Are you currently TTC?
I would drop the Vitex completely, in this kind if situation it could be making things worse. Were you tracking your cycles/using OPKs prior to 3 months ago?Last edited by maidentomother; April 3rd, 2016 at 03:48 AM.

Ol that makes sense why it's not coming.I'm 5'3 and BMI is 19.I may need to push for metoformin. They did say that if I wasn't ovulating in another month then I would be referred to a specialist who may be able to give this to me.We have been TTC for the last 5 months or so and yes the last few months I have using ovulation tests, tracking CM and my temperature on and off.I will stop using vitex,I thought it may help but maybe it's delaying o?

It's possible your cycles have always/oftenbeen irregular and you just didn't know until you started charting thoroughly. That is very common! Most of us are not nearly as regular as we think.
Your BMI is low so PCOS is unlikely but it is possible to have slim PCOS. Have you lost a lot of weight recently? What CD did you O in your last 2 cycles?
I think you would benefit from Clomid/Femara to stimulate O/make it happen earlier. I wonder why Metformin was suggested instead if your bloodwork etc is all normal? Unlrss you hsve PCOS you shouldn't need Metformin.
Vitex can delay or even completely prevent O for some women.

That's very possible! I got pregnant first go with my son and didn't do much tracking before.I have lost weight from having him 18 months ago but have put back on a kg and half the last two weeks.I'm a few kg lighter from pre pregnancy with him.The last two cycles,I couldn't pinpoint a day.I'm not sure why they suggested that, maybe I will question them on this if it comes to me needing assistance for ovulation.

I'm not sure how much you've told them, but if possible, I would tell them you've always had irregular cycles and late O. That may prompt them to prescribe Clomid/Femara which you may actually need and which will help your pink sway significantly. If you're entirely truthful they may want you to TTC for a year before being willimg to prescribe anything. Just don't ask for anything outright, most drs don't respond well to that. Instead say you're worried about your long, unpredictable and irregular cycles and is there anything they can suggest to help you O earlier?
How long have you been on the LE diet/swaying? Are you doing any exercise? It's possible that this long cycle is a one off in reaction to the recent lifestyle changes, and won't be a problem again. And if you hadn't ever taken any Vitex, you may have Oed long before now. How long were your last 2 cycles?
