Recently weaned. About three weeks ago now. I'm just done. He got to 22 months so I don't feel bad. But he would have happily booked until he was four I reckon.

Try (if you haven't already) telling him each time that he is a big boy now and only babies need boobies ( or whatever he calls them). Ideally it will build him up as a big boy and he won't want to be called a baby. I've had to do that in a few areas with my youngest.... still do sometimes like getting dressed. He wants me to dress him. He has always liked the idea of being a big boy and if you ask/asked him if he was a baby he would get upset (not a lot but enough). I've found it helpful to also make sure to point out that he gets to do XYZ because he is a big boy and that a baby couldn't. For us it reinforced his desire to be a big boy when he got to do things he liked but knew he wouldn't be able to if he wanted to still be a baby. Honestly he still was and is my baby but it's all about psychology with kids and working it in a way that benefits them and still accomplishes your goals. In this case kids inherently want to grow up (usually. .. there are always some that want to stay the baby) so you use that mindset to both of your benefits It's a long road but he'll get there.

Thanks two. Your right, sometimes it just takes persistence and trying things in different ways to get them to the place they need to be. My older kids were good at sleeping alone not long after they turned two. He is just shy of two still, so I can't be too hard on him. It's just exhausting is all. And your right they do need their mums quite a lot. He is only so little and he is def the baby. I do all the night parenting because hubby has a job where he needs to have his brain switched on, or people could die, so arm I sleep alone and attend the kids. I've thought of two other things I can try. One is asking him not to wake me up overnight and the other is getting my hubby to do a few nights when he has a run of days off.

Dang Bella, my heart goes out to you. By 1 year I had to sleep train my littles because I couldn't do it anymore. That being said, they were both easy to sleep train, relatively speaking. I co-slept for 9 months with the first and only 3 months with the second. I hear it is much harder to change sleeping patterns the older they get so just try to stay consistent. I think sibling co-sleeping is awesome! Two, I can't believe the doctor is against it- I think it's very sweet and one day they won't want to anymore so enjoy the love while it lasts:-)

Bella, I can also tell you because I weaned my youngest who is 15 months 2 months after finding out I was pregnant because I needed some of my body back, that there were a few weeks of neediness attached. Maybe, hopefully, as a little more time passes he will gain some more independence. Does he have a lovey? Make his bed as inviting as possible, sounds if he likes it (for us it's white noise and or music), twinkle lights, lovey, blanky, you name it. I'm not joking my 15 month old dives into bed he's just grown to love it so much and loves all of his comforts..so maybe try to figure out what those are other than boobies. Lol.

In the meantime, come here and complain and moan and groan, we don't mind:-)

    Just checking in :-)

I've been stalking daily but not feeling very postey. I feel so blah.

My 2.5 year old sleeps alright at night but has a lovely habit of waking up 2 hours before everyone else and ends up coming to bed with us. I'm not sure how to cut it out. I'm still weaning him too. I've never nursed a child so long but he's my baby and he's so sweet I don't know how to cut him off :-( he only nurses when he comes in bed in the morning or when I put him to bed at night. At night it's only for a minute on each side, I think I'm pretty dried out. It's likely more for comfort. But I'm done also.

I have an appointment today. 10 weeks, first ultrasound so I'm looking forward to that. Also physical exam and I'm dreading that. I freaking hate papsmears soooo much. I can't imagine anyone actually likes them but I seriously get anxiety thinking about it, I don't know why :-/

I wish there was some fun gender predictor game to go off of a 10 week u/s !

Kmom at ten weeks you could get a NIPT blood test to determine gender (it's also a diagnostic test for various genetic disorders).
I read somewhere that anterior placentas tend to be more girls but I had it both times with my boys so not sure if that's true!
LOVERR it's called a signature you can change it in your profile settings I think? Xx
