I have read a ton of information on this site over the last month, but I would like to know the most current recommendation regarding if BD every 4 days or 1 attempt at+ opk is more effective for a girl sway? I have seen both recommended, but has one had more success than the other? Every 4 days seems more simple to me, and I'd rather do that if it's just as effective.
Would that also guarantee that only one attempt is made in the fertile period, or does that risk there being possibly 2 attempts?
Thanks for your help. This is all still very new to me. [emoji4]

Every 4 days or 1 attempt at +opk

Hi katt2275. I believe one attempt at pos opk is still the starting point but if you find opks stressful then start with e4d. One attempt at pos opk is better to start with as your one attempt will be 1-o or 2-o whereas e4d runs the (50/50) risk of having a 3-o or 4-o and o day attempts which are possible to conceive from but not as good odds as the former. We don't know which is pinker yet as E4D is a MUCH newer, less tried tactic. So since 1 attempt at pos OPK is tried and true, and theoretically may be pinker, most people should start with it. But some people do E4D from the beginning due to particular circumstances, such as OPKs not working well for them, long/irregular cycles, wanting to get pregnant in a hurry, OPKs too stressful. I would recommend you personally start with E4D for the first 3 cycles, then go to E3D.
With E4D, yes, technically it can mean 2 attempts in the fertile period, but even in the worst case scenario (both in terms of least pink and lowest conception odds), which is BD on O-4, and O days, it is extremely unlikely that you conceived from the O day attempt. But, maybe the presence of more sperm, even uncapacitated, somehow sways blue. Having few sperm left from 4 days earlier probably helps counteract this effect, if it exists.Last edited by maidentomother; April 10th, 2016 at 06:21 AM.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

We do not know which if either is more effective because two different subsets of swayers are using it.
Most people start out doing one attempt UNLESS they are older, have fertility challenges, can't use OPK, or need to get pregnant faster. Most of the people who use e4d are older, have fertility challenges, OPK don't work for them, or they've been TTC a long time without success. These people may be coming in more set for pink than those who can get easily pregnant with one attempt.
It actually really still is one attempt in fertile window mostly. Even in the worst case scenario which is O-3 and O Day, if there was anything left from the first attempt, it will be on hand to fertilize the egg before the O Day shot could even capacitate, and if there wasn't the O Day shot would be there as a backup.!!! I was all set for a o-3 attempt but I have recently had an idiot moment which could easily have lead to toxic shock syndrome so am now on Antibitoics and have not O'ed on the day that my chart had predicted (which was the 9th and still no sign of O) now I am not sure what to do and trying not to stress in case that is the reason for my lack of O.
Shocked and excited by my DH's idea to TTC a girl!

Does E4D start after AF? And is the one attempt on O day not a boy sway method because of all the pink swaying (Cardio, diet, OLE, etc?)

One attempt at +opk is not an attempt on O day. Most people O 12-48 hours AFTER their first +opk. So BD at +opk would most likely mean your attempt is 1-2 days before O, which is actually the best odds at getting pregnant. You need the sperm ready and waiting in the fallopian tubes when the egg is released. BD on O day has a very very low chance of conception.
Me: 35 years old. Was an infant nanny and birth and postpartum doula. Now a full time SAHM.
DS1: Aug 2003 (my first home birthed water baby!)
DS2: May 2009 (my second home birthed water baby!)
Oct 2014
July 2016: Laproscopic surgery to remove a ping pong ball sized endometrioma on left ovary and 3 pea size fibroids on outside of uterus. Hysteroscopy to remove one larger "penetrating fibroid" inside uterus.
Oct 2016: Heartbroken after DH's vasectomy. Looks like my dreams of a daughter are gone.

Timing doesn't sway and studies have proven it definitively. Shettles has been totally debunked and most of us on here myself included, have 2,3 4 or more timing opposites. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...le-timing.html
E4d starts whenever you want to start it. During AF, after AF, whenever, the important thing is that you start it off before O and keep going after you THINK you O because it protects you from missing ovulation that way. If you O early or late, youll be in with an attempt either way.
I try really hard to answer every question wherever it's asked so there aren't a lot of outstanding questions in threads with no answer - it makes it a lot easier if you ask each question just one time and then wait, because it saves me from having to answer the same exact question in a whole bunch of threads.!!!
