Just for my 2 cents - I think it is fine to O earlier in your cycle, esp if swaying blue. If your luteal phase (after O) is short, then it's time to worry b/c it's really hard for a bean to stick. But it's harder for anyone to conceive if they are O'ing later in the cycle according to fertility science.

I think if you are having copious ewcm with an earlier O that is just fine... If your luteal phases are too short then add in more fat and try adjusting your night lighting.

You can try adjusting night lighting to move O back a couple of days but IMO you should shoot for a day 13-15 O and no later. Night lighting (Lunaception) can take a couple of cycles to work.

Just an FYI - my successful blue sway was a day 12 O.

What is the deal with the night time lighting? I sleep with all kinds of night lights all over the house, because I really don't like sleeping in pitch black. What does that mean?

Well, at this point, I am leaving it all up to fate. I am taking my same supps, and we'll see when O day arrives....

Our cycles are very much effected by night lighting since they're tied to the moon cycles (at least were traditionally before we had all these electric lights!)

You can help your body to ovulate when you want to in your cycle by sleeping in total darkness until you want to ovulate. Then put on a nightlight, open curtains, etc. for a couple of days. So if you want to O on cycle day 15, turn a nightlight on before you go to bed on CD 14. This helps mimic what the moon naturally did for our cycles and it has been shown to be pretty effective.

Wow, that is really interesting! I wonder if my cycle is irregular because I have nightlights on? Did you say it takes a few months to get it regulated with the lights, though? Does it matter when in your cycle that you start doing it?

here's the essay about nighttime lighting and why it might work scientifically. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...21-Lunaception

I would start it whenever - it can't hurt and may help. It may be why your cycle is irregular. Though it strains my brain to believe that lighting can be so powerful, I do know I don't sleep as well when I have even the tiny light on the DVD player turned on.

Really? Wow, I have all kinds of lights on. I leave a light on in the kitchen, a night light in the kids' bathroom, and even one in my bathroom! And we have a single story house, and not a big one at that. I guess I can try sleeping in pitch black, but it might be hard for me.

Well, it's one of those things where if you can do it, then do, and if you just can't, if it's too weird, no big deal.

I tried it last night. Slept in the dark! There are a few things I can't make dark, like the noise machine that DD2 sleeps with (in our room) and it glows a little. Still. Pretty much dark! So, so I turn lights on when I want to O, or the day before?

I would turn the light on 2 days before you want to O and leave it on a total of three days, so O day and 2 days before O day. Keep me up to date on how this goes, I think you're the first person who is going to try it.

No matter what, if you get a pos OPK and you're going to O (regardless of whether the light had anything to do with it or not) go ahead and turn the light on, so your body thinks it's a full moon. Might help sway blue a little!!
