Oh I didn't realize there would be a difference between the two! Is there something about upping intercourse instead of him releasing alone that helps sway on my side too? Il make sure to stop the peppermint tea then!Learning something new from this site everyday, but I'm so looking forward to starting in September! You run a great site! I'm so appreciative of all your help!

You're very welcome, it's my pleasure!
There are three different aspects to swaying and BD patterns - timing, frequency of his release, and the number of times you have unprotected sex. Timing has been debunked, the frequency of his release may sway a tiny amount but has been disappointing and also cuts odds of conception, and the number of rounds of unprotected sex particularly in the fertile window, DOES seem to be very effective.
One attempt in the fertile window (O-3/4 thru O Day) has been a very effective pink sway. We've also had good luck lately with the every 4 day pattern, but since e4d is new and most of the people who used it were either on Clomid or had been TTC a very long time, I'm not yet convinced that is a real finding or if it is legit yet, so I think it's best to at least start out with one attempt in fertile window rather than e4d.
Additionally, there is data that frequent exposure to the hormones in your husband's semen may make you more fertile and in effect sway blue. So since you aren't already having this exposure, my concern is that for you to go from rarely having sex to having it e4d that could possibly sway blue for you guys as a couple, even if it didn't do that for other people.
Hence, I think (and admittedly this is nothing more than my own gut instinct here) that if you guys were to start off with one time a week, that is still a chance of conception that would not entail tracking your cycle and yet it would not potentially be a blue sway for you becuase it would certainly be one attempt in fertile window. Over time, you may get "used" to those hormones and then you could push it closer together until conception occured.
I hope this makes sense, it's more involved than it might seem at first blush haha.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Ah I understand now, thank you so much for explaining it all! From all the information you have given me is it best to start trying once a week in September and upping the attempt to twice a week in October, 3 times a week in November, and building it up like that until I conceive? This is due to my DP wanting to try conceiving starting September so I don't think he'd be willing to chance unprotected sex until then (He wants DS in nursery in time for the new arrival) Sorry If I've got the wrong jist of it! I'd love to give us our best shot at getting pink. I had a very traumatic birth with my son and I'd like this to be the last time I have to experience it all again! However whatever we end up getting, pink or blue, will be meant to be and loved so very much

That would be fine or if you were in no hurry you could even slow that down further to once a week for 2 months or whatever. Totally at your discretion.
I would probably NEVER have you go to 3x a week though. That would possibly be 3 attempts in fertile window. What I"d do instead is do every 7 days, then every 6, then 5, then 4, and stick at every 4 days (since we know we've gotten good results with that). THen if you needed to bump that up more, you could EITHER do e4d plus one additional attempt at positive OPK, OR every 3 days. THis would be as much as I would ever have you do and at that point you'd have a good chance of conception with every month that passed by.!!! We are not too much in a hurry, as I have some weight to lose (around 50 lbs) Which is plan to loose between now and October! I've lost a little so far and tend to drop weight pretty quickly when I'm committed. So ideally I'd like to hit my target before conceiving to have the healthiest pregnancy I possibly can as Diabetes runs in my family. I will definitely take your advice and start doing the 7 days to 6 and so fourth! Ah I so excited! I Know I keep repeating myself but I really can't thank you both enough for your help! So nice to talk to people about swaying as I feel like people will think I'm crazy talking in person lol! Well apart from DPl! I hope your sway goes well Beau82, sending you healthy pink dust!! It will be lovely to see how you get on if you post updates on here!

Hello again ladies, how are you all doing?
I'm currently doing LE and drinking my body weight in coffee but staying on the lower side of cals due to wanting to loose weight. I have read on here that weight loss with no exercise sways pink and intense 60 mins exercise resulting in lots of weight loss can commonly sway blue. Is this correct or is this a good pink tactic to aim to loose lots of weight (Which I have to loose being between 210 and 220 - I am your typical yoyo dieter) with 60 mins of daily cardio or be a cough potato, I'm a little boggled again! I've also bought a clearblue digital ov kit as DP just wouldn't be able to manage ed4 and we figure It may be best just to try one attempt at OPK.

THat was never meant as a guideline, it was an explanation about how some very heavy women do have girls and then lose weight and get boys, but just because something can hypothetically sway for some people, it doesn't make it the best way for anyone. Some of what we talk about on this site is to help us best figure out the mystery of swaying, not because it's always going to optimize our chances.
Since you have the weight to spare, try to lose some.. Not only for the best possible sway but for a healthy pregnancy. You MUST do the exercise (even if not able to do the 60 6-7 recommendation) if at all possible because the benefits for blood sugar control and weight loss will be so major for you that it completely outweighs any possible risk of mod. exercise. Do whatever exercise you can do, even if it is moderate.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thankyou again for the advice! I have faith in swaying and you've been a god send at explaining it all to me, so for that I'm very grateful
I've been using a Wii in my living room for 60 mins a day so hoping that will work in my favour. Still keeping up folic acid although I am a little confused on how often to take it and how many mg, the tablets I have are 200mg. I've also added soy milk to coffee too as I read this may also sway slightly (I don't drink dairy anyway but I was eating lots of cheese when having my son) I hope everyone else is doing well, it's certainly a journey and not a race!

Well, you want to be getting 1200 mcg (that's micrograms, not milligrams) so is the dose on your pills 200 milligrams??? If so, you'd only take one of those.
