Hi!
I was a frequent visitor here about 1-2 years ago, trying to sway pink. Did end up with my third little son (such a joy though) and have since he came been quite happy with three kids. But some weeks ago we got a little surprise - I am pregnant again. An oops! :-)
This time I had a NIPT test (Panorama/Natera) and got the result back the other day. Healthy baby and a girl!
But after doing som research on forums there seems to have been quite som errors (mostly other tests, but also a few among the Panorama) and some say that early tests are less reliable since there might have not been enough DNA yet to catch up the Y chromosome.
I took the test at 9+5 and had a fetal fraction of 7,6% (minimum is 4% I think and it can be taken from 9+0).
Would you trust the result or should I try to be prepared to hear other news at the scan?
Since I am a member here I obviously really really want a girl so it would probably be really tough to get my mind set on a girl and then find out the test was wrong.

I would definitely trust these blood tests. Think they are even more accurate than a scan! Congrats on your girl!

There aren't quite a few errors! Though they occur, they're quite rare -- they just are the ones that get posts on forums [emoji14]
I had thought 10w was the minimum though, so that's awesome if it can be done at 9 now!
Congrats!

Thanks for the replies ladies! I hope you are right, and I was also assuming that they were more or less 100% accurate until I started googling (why did I have to do that?!).
Panorama is the only one starting from 9 weeks I believe, although my doctor said to wait a few more days wouldn't hurt (less risk of inconclusive test).Gorgeous4

Yes it is highly reliable and far better than a scan. A lot of the people who claim their test was wrong, are comparing it to an ultrasound which is LESS reliable and then they never actually come back and update when the baby arrives (probably because the blood test was right!)

Thanks Atomic! It is so relieving to read this. I have gotten soooo nervous after reading about "a friend of a friend" or "a cousin" etc who got the wrong results. No more googeling about it now!

I did panorama at 9 weeks 0 days and it was correct--got my girl! During the blood test they actually pull the baby's DNA out of your blood and can see if it's XX or XY, very very reliable.
