Yes it is a lot of work to clean pump parts but hey its keeping me sane and i get to enjoy my babies newborn days. I think i find BF more taxing to be honest. Its definately nit for me. I went through the exact same thing as u guys with DD1 so i can relate and applaud u for keeping at it

Taytum i think it is the same for whooping cough? My arms sore with a constant ache. Doesn't seem as painful now doing things but then i guess im avoiding doing things that aggravate it

Hey boyz and Taytum! Just wanted to pop on to say you are both doing brilliantly, and to offer some encouragement!!! Sleep deprivation never ever makes you feel good and it is so hard when it feels like we are doing all the work with a newborn as there is only so much DH can do when you are breastfeeding. You are both giving the babies such a good start though, and things WILL settle down and you WILL get more sleep and the feeding WILL ease off! Try to keep talking to your DHs and demand some more help otherwise resentment will start to build up. My DH has thankfully always been good and even wakes up with me for night feeds - both our girls have had reflux so needed really good winding after a feed, so I would breastfeed them and then DH would take over for the winding bit while I went back to sleep! This is a team effort, so remind the DHs of that and ask them to look after the babies for a while (ideally taking them right out the house for a walk or a drive) so you can have a bit of much needed time to yourselves to rest. Hugs to you both.

You guys aren't kidding, this FTM and new baby stuff is tough some days. Combined with my lack of sleep and his lack of napping in the afternoon makes life really tough. Today is a new day though and on the bright side, so far we've been nursing WITHOUT a nipple shield! Hoping we can keep it going!
I'm so sorry DH is not helping you at all Boyz. I couldn't imagine doing this by myself plus having other kids like you do. My DH is actually really helpful and I know he felt bad for being gone and when he came back he immediately took over and got baby to sleep so I could take care of myself, eat dinner and compose. He really is really helpful, I was just frustrated that it seems like right when he walked out the door C woke up and it was crying city.
I think some of mine is bitterness towards breastfeeding as I feel so controlled and homebound. I made a compromise to only keep at it until work begins again in August, so I'm trying to push through. You're right bluebooties, BF is taxing. I think I just hate pumping just as much if not more so this seems the lesser of the two evils for me. It's hard either way and I applaud you for pumping! I think it's a lot more admirable for women who EP! Wow!DS1 5/2016

Due June/July/August 2016 Part 2
Taytum its just bad timings for us i guess. I have always struggled with post partum blues. With ds2 i even were on medication to control my depression. I dont want to go that route as i m BF. Littleone is very gassy. I m not sure if its the formula or my diet. BF with my ds1 was a breeze. Came so naturally and i did it for a yr before i went back to work. Ds2 i gave up on 2 nd week. He ws wheat allergic so it ws too much for me to exclude wheat from my diet.

I'm so sorry things have been so tough Taytum and Boyz
I hope your DHs help you soon!!
We're settling in here at day 5. I actually had a brief meltdown first day home because my FIL made truly horrible comments about us having a girl -- he made several people uncomfortable because his comments were so offensive, but my DH was good about calling him out.
In my sleep deprived state it REALLY hurt, but I was angry over sad or regretful. I'm honestly amazed at how my GD went away -- I can't imagine having any other baby than my little Lily! My DH has already gone, "See we don't need to have a boy!," but I'm not quite at that stage
I just know that you guys were all so right about bonding after birth. I just wish my DH would full on cut his dad out of our lives because he's always been such an asshole :/

Hope things are getting better for you Boyz and she's sleeping a little better. We use Enfamil with him when we need to. And I'm just going to stop worrying so much about having any pumped if we need to be away from him. If I do, great, and if not, he has formula. It won't kill him and will give me a break!
So glad you're so happy Throwaway!! I bet little Lily is so precious and it sounds like your DH is smitten too. [emoji175] Sorry about your FIL...I'll never know why people think it's their place to say anything. Like, what does it matter to him - he should just love his granddaughter! Glad your hubby stuck up for you. And those PP hormones are no joke!! I cried a lot the first few days we were home, just because I loved him so much and didn't want him to get bigger or anything bad to happen to him!DS1 5/2016
