Day 3 vs Day 5 biospy

    Hi Everyone,
Trying to decide between Day 3 vs Day 5 biopsy. Here's what I've heard, would welcome comments:

Day 3 pros: More embryos to biopsy, Day 5 transfer ideal
Day 3 cons: Some false positives, potential damage to the embryo during biopsy

Day 5 pros: More accurate biopsy, biopsied cells taken from outer trophectoderm layer which may harm embryo less than Day 3 biopsy
Day 5 cons: Some embryos may not make it to Day 5 biopsy (not progress either b/c of abnormality or cell culture environment not ideal), have to do a FET or transfer Day 6 which may be too late for implantation

Hi there! We have several posts and ongoing conversations on this topic in the HT members area- both GSN and CGH testing. Also, we have Cycle Diaries of everyone that has and is currently cycling and you can read through them and see how they did with the different testing methods.

I think a lot of it depends on how you respond and how many embryos you have to work with.
