I suspect girlie you will hear from the blood work that your progesterone is low. sometimes women can fix it with diet as atomic suggested the eggs, meat, etc...but sometimes you will need progesterone to lengthen your LP in order for a potential pregnancy to progress as it needs to during that time. I suspect its one of two things in your case..1) very weak or no ovulation or 2) low thyroid. sometimes stress can cause it however you were expecting a short LP and have had it in the past and so i think its significantly less likely its stress induced.
lissa i am so so sorry. you were so happy and positive the other night..i hate to see that change for you. With my daughter i did not get a positive until 12 DPO and also had stark white negatives at 9 and 10 DPO with her..so you arent out yet and i have hope you may see a positive yet but if not we will all be here for you. hang in there..

I have had an underactive thyroid for about five years. I was diagnosed about a week before I found out I was pregnant with ds1, so I conceived him with undiagnosed thyroid problem. I June I got my blood taken to check my functioning ahead of attempt and it was over active, so am now on reduced medication. Hope your right bukoram and I get some answers ad I feel I am bussing my balls swaying and it is just not happening for some reason. I agree I think it is less to do with stress as I was very excited this month to get an egg symbol and plus I was off work so stress was significantly reduced. What would cause me to have low progesterone? Or not to ovulate? Is it just age related? I just turned 36, I don't think it is that old! My gp is very unhelpful and I don't think he will do much even if the blood work shows anything! Thanks for responding. I conceived my three babies so easily, there has to be an explanation x o

Girlie I wish I knew because then my progesterone wouldn't be so low right now either... I can tell you that a very weak ovulation can cause low progesterone. But I have to wonder... If your progesterone comes back low ask the doctor if your medicine can cause it that you are in for your thyroid

Sorry about the fake-out Lissa, it's such an emotional process!
Boo on AF, girlie, hope you get some answers. I feel like in in the same boat with low progesterone. My LPs have been so short too. It sucks. I've been drinking pep tea this cycle, we'll see if that helps.
Hope AF stays away, Jenny.
I got my +opk today, CD 17, and we snuck in our attempt before work. Before we've been waiting until the night after getting the +opk in the morning so I wanted to get it in earlier. The wait is on for me now. Fingers crossed.

I'm sorry girlie! Maybe you could take a vitamin b complex? I seem to remember that a vitamin b6 deficiency can make it worse. Also, I just recently read a study that said that Melatonin, the drug your body releases for sleep, is supposed to help. Maybe you should start taking a low dose (1mg) of Melatonin at night to help? You can also increase healthy fats like avocado, nuts and seeds, etc. That is supposed to help too. I found that being on LE for too long shortened my lp down to 10 days. As soon as I started eating some healthy fats again, my lp went right back to 14 days.

13 DPO and got another BFN this morning followed by the arrival of AF hours later. I am not sure why, but I really thought this was going to be the month I got a positive.
I am confused at what step to take next. This was cycle number 5 and I am 35yr old so I know they say don't try for too long before taking the next step at older ages. I have PCOS but not insulin resistance, mainly just hormone imbalances. I have been on Metformin for over 2 months and it has helped my cycle so I think that means it is helping my hormones too (have not done more blood work since on met). My cycles got longer and longer after getting off BC in January (was up to 42 days) and now on the met they are getting shorter (37 last time and 34 this cycle). My PMS has gotten way better too which doc said would happen if my hormones balanced out. I am very excited to even be having a somewhat regular and tractable cycle because that wasn't the case in my younger years.
I have gotten +OPK the last three cycles and my luteal phase is always 13-14 days. I don't particular like my current doc. I have just been going to my normal OBGYN office, but the lady I see is the nurse practitioner and she said she thinks I am ovulating and was happy to hear I got +OPKs, but that doesn't mean I for sure actually ovulated does it?
One thing that I find strange that doc just brushed off as no big deal is that AF is not even 48 hours long ever since off BC. Actual flow can be as little as 12 hours with very light spotting the rest. Also I get very bad mid cycle (ovulation) cramping...for days and days. That is how I know it is time to test and ever single time I have started cramping mid cycle is when I get my +OPK.
I should mention, I am swaying pink. On LE diet, went vegetarian, 1000mg of Metformin, 1600 of folic acid, one attempt at +OPK, starting to exercise.
What should my next step be? Should I transfer to an endo? Ask for more blood work? Other tests? Other meds? Increase the Met? I was trying to avoid expensive options. I have already spent more than I expected at the norm doc and tests because my insurance sucks. DH and I already agreed we would not go as far as IVF.
Thanks.

Girls do you think I should give up on swaying? Just looking for opinions? I have gp appt on Thursday when hopefully multiple blood work will be back so I can discuss options. My gp is hard to get motivated to do or act on anything, so I don't hold out much hope he will do much. I sort of feel what is the point in me knocking my pan in with diet and exercise if I have zero chance of getting pregnant anyway? Am a really positive person and usually can find some positive spin to keep me motivated to achieve what ever goal am aiming for but a 7 day lp is impossible to spin! Any advice lovely ladies?
Lissastick I hope af stays away, fingers crossed for you, trying to sway has been such a harder process than I ever imagined.
Jennypenny that is sounding positive, good luck.
Good luck to everyone else in the 2 ww, x
