    Does timing of sickness matter?

Does it matter WHEN you are sick in relation to when you ovulate that tends to sway girl? For example, I am sick now with a stomach virus and I'm on CD 7 today. I only had diarrhea once, no vomiting, but I did have fever, chills and body aches yesterday. My symptoms are resolving today so I will have been sick about 48 hours. So, is it being sick any time in the cycle before O that sways or being sick through O or a couple days prior?

Being sick prior to O sways pink. Be aware that this can often delay ovulation making for a longer cycle.

FX for you, and I hope you feel better soon!!

Darn, I was hoping the answer would be that it's only an issue if it's close to O. I have PCOS so I might O in a week or in several weeks.

I've made the decision to use condoms the rest of the cycle, but I was hoping not to have to....

I was just thinking about you!!!

While we don't have the data to say for sure, I think that something like that would tend to work itself out or else would simply delay O if you weren't up to snuff. If O comes on time, then I'd feel good about trying. If it was something where you were sick for 2 weeks or something then that of course is different but this seems like just a short time bug or possibly something you ate.

It's been soo long I didn't think you'd remember me lol. I did go on to have another boy without any swaying, but going for a 3rd.

I'm feeling pretty good other than my stomach still not being right. I'm eating pretty much my normal though.

The other reason I thought I should wait is because my TSH shot up so changed my med and wasnt tracking so not sure if I lost weight when it came back down which was just a couple weeks ago only.

Oh that's great, I'm so happy for you! What year was he born?

Thyroid stuff does make me a little nervous because it can contribute to miscarriage, so if your levels are weird then that may be something to consider holding off on.

Thanks! He's wonderful. So thrilled I have him. He was born May 2015. I see you have a daughter! That's awesome.

My thyroid level is good now as of early Sept, but I was a little worried when I went from hypo to normal within a month that I may have lost a couple pounds. I guess I'm not sure now if I should skip this cycle or not....with me the next one might be 30-90 days away.

Yes she just turned 4!! I can't believe it's been that long since we talked! AA!

That is actually something that has happened a lot - people lose some weight and their meds have to be adjusted.

If you will live with 1000 lifetimes of regret if you try this month and get a girl, best to hold off. But just keep in mind that we don't even know how any of this works and it's entirely possible to skip a good month in favor of a less good month without ever realizing it. we get so focused on the visible, controllable elements that it's easy to lose sight of the reality that most of what sways are things we don't even know are there.

Also, I don't know if you were caught up on this or not but we have been having best results with more than one attempt in the fertile window. We are using one BD as a very effective pink tactic now. So if you were thinking of doing Shettles one attempt on O Day, I would suggest instead to have attempt the day of positive OPK (or o-1) again the next morning if possible, and then again the following night.
