Hi I am new to this forum but have enjoyed reading all the different comments yesterday, however my head is just completely confused. We are hoping to try and conceive a girl starting in Jan 17. Is there anyone who can almost really dumb it down for me, like a list of foods I should/shouldn't be eating. What me and my husband should do to help, if I should be taking any supplements etc? I am just so confused all I have managed to work out is broccoli is something to eat! Then i thought maybe oranges but I am now confused if that's correct.
Thank you everyone and good luck with your sways.

hi and welcome
i did a fairly simple pink sway, i'll add what i can here but im no expert! im sorry i cant comment in more detail for you but there are many people on here who will be able to break it all down for you in a much more detailed way!
the main things for pink currently are:
LE diet - no banned foods but go vegetarian if you can, most people do 2 meals a day with no snacks, point is to keep your blood sugar low for long periods of time between meals.
exercise - 1 hour cardio 6-7 days a week or couch potato (i couldnt commit the time so i did no exercise)
BD pattern - one attempt at positive opk or if you dont want to use opk's then dtd every 4 days through your cycle
caffeine - coffee not tea (i didnt do this)
alcohol - if you drink then have a drink or 2 most nights (i dont drink so didnt do this either)
supplements - there are some i think but i dont know what they are so cant help you there im afraid.. (i didnt take any)
as i said im sure others will add to this with more detailed info for youmy advice would be to do what will work for you and what you can stick to for as long as is needed for you to get your bfp!
**for diet i would add that although there are no banned foods red meat is generally avoided**
good luck with your sway and my fingers are crossed you get your little girlnow 6blue5pink

Hi and welcome!
I am fairly new here too, but have been up most nights reading anything I can to help with our girl sway. We are going to start trying in December 2016. I'm overwhelmed sometimes with all of it, but so thankful for, this website at the same time. This would be out first child, but the pressure from the in-laws ( only have sons and grandsons) is very overwhelming. I really want a girl too. I've purchased a personalized sway plan last week☺. I haven't gotten it back yet due to the expected wait time, but I can tell you it has helped so much just knowing atomic will have more guidance for me. The plan I purchased also came with 21 day meal plan. I'm terrible with meal ideas. So far 2 meals a day, low blood sugar, folic acid only and 2 glasses of white wine is what I'm following until I receive my plan ☺ oh, I actually am exercising by fast pace walking for an hour too. Its not super convenient, but I can defiantly stand to lose some weight and want the best girl sway. I'm very nervous for gender disappointment. I know deep down a healthy baby is all that truly matters, but if I could have a healthy baby girl I feel like my life would be complete.

Can anyone make it look a bit simpler?
Hi Izzy and Samantha, 4blue2pink summed it up pretty great but I will elaborate a bit.
LE diet for 12 weeks or longer. 1500-1800 calories, 40-50g protein, 40-60g fat. Vegetarian if you can because meats have so much protein. There are no foods you can't eat if you stay within your limits. I eat everything I did before, except meat. 2-3 meals a day, no snacking in between and a lot of ladies skip breakfast because a long 12-16 hour fast a day is good. I only eat lunch at noon and dinner between 6-8pm, no food any other time of day. Cheating is encouraged every now and then so you don't drive yourself crazy.
Coffee, alcohol daily if you can
Cardio exercise 6 weeks or longer for 60min a day for 5-7 days a week. It has to be 60 straight minutes without stopping, no less. Doesn't have to be intense, can be walking even.
Sex, only 1 attempt at positive OPK is the key. Timing doesn't sway so throw out those old ideas. The point is just one attempt in your fertility window. If you don't use OPKs or that is too stressful, you can DTD every 4 days to cover you. Don't stop till you are for sure you ovulated.
Fiber supplements help but I think this is only if you have some weight to lose. I am at low BMI so Atomic said no fiber for me.
Folic Acid or Folate- 1200mcg-1600mcg is a must no matter what gender you sway
Drop any multivitamin or prenatal. Those sway boy, just the folic is what you need. (Unless you need them for medical reasons. )
Clomid or Femara if you can get it. Great for girl sway.
Those are the basics of this site. Read through newer posts mainly (except atomic stickies) as older posts may have outdated info for stuff that isn't recommend anymore. For a girl sway, relaxed and less stressful is also key as stress sways boy. There are forums for food, diet, waiting in the month you are trying and then due date forums once you are pregnant- plus just random questions and help. It does get easier. Start with the diet and counting your calories, protein and fat, that is critical as 12 weeks on it has best results. Good luck ladies.Pregnant with baby GIRL #2, due August 2019

I want to add that I would follow what the previous two posters have suggested, with one exception: you can have 3 meals a day instead of 2 meals a day. Some people, like myself, simply cannot eat 2 meals of 750 calories. That is way too much for me to eat in one sitting to make sure I am getting the 1500-1800 that is recommended.
The main thing is no snacking at all. Delay breakfast as long as you can with a long fast between your last meal of the day and your first meal.
Make sure to stick to the diet (and exercise if you do it) after ovulation in case you don't get a BFP.
FX and GL to you!!

Thank you for posting this! I also just purchased a personalized plan last week and waiting for my plan. In the mean time, I am slowly trying to change diet. It is so so so hard for me to cut out so much that I have eaten my whole life and eating what feels like a bunch of boring foods lol. I am also taking metformin for pcos, which will hopefully help me out here. We will be trying next cycle, in November, so this week I am buckling down and going to change diet the whole way. It is so overwhelming, it's actually making my anxiety much worse lol. Just hoping my plan will help ease my mind some in all the stress over this.

There are no magic foods that make boys or girls. It's the overall nutrient content of your diet and not that you ate oranges or broccoli.
Most of us aim for 1500-1800 cals a day, 40-50 g protein, and 30-60 g fat. Getting most of your protein and fat from vegetable sources vs. animal sources seems to sway strongly pink. Low carb vegetables are free and unlimited you can have as much as you want no need to count, and higher carb veg and fruit, you count cals but not protein or fat in them. We also want to go longer between meals by eliminating snacking and many people skip or push back breakfast sticking to 2 or 3 meals a day whichever works better for you. That's IT!! Within those guidelines you have freedom to eat what you want and do not need to skip foods you like or forcefeed yourself things you hate.
Coffee and alcohol are getting great results for pink.
I can't comment on any supps without a custom plan or more info because some supps are better for some than others and some of them cannot be taken by certain groups of people. Everyone should take folic acid or folate for a healthy pregnancy and most people also take fiber supps with meals containing fat.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thank you all for your advice☺ I think I'm getting better at meal ideas, but am struggling with drinks. I love dunkin douhhnuts iced coffee, but not sure exactly what and how much to add to it, what is the best creamer to use and sugar? Does it matter if I get pumpkin or vanilla? Would it be ok to drink it 2-3 times weekly around 10 am? I usually finish my dinner my 7 pm. In between meals I'm drinking crystal light , but keeping it less than 2 cups total for the day. ☺

It's great that you've asked for a summary as it'll help other newbies. You may also find these threads useful for meal ideas and inspiration.
