I have already set up an appointment with my doctor. I normally get 2-3 migraines a year. I've had a few in the four or so months I've been on the LE diet, but a couple of them I could name a trigger for.
I've had three this week, with no known triggers other than AF. Has anyone else had this happen while swaying? I'm not on any supplements right now.

I don't get migraines but I do get headaches more frequently which I blame on dehydration from coffee and alcohol. I need to remember to drink more water.

Migraines were a fear of mine when starting the LE because I struggled with migraines and headaches for years. Anytime I make changes to my diet I fear it will start my migraines again, but surprisingly I haven't noticed an increase. Only had 1 in the last 3 months since on LE. BUT I am not doing coffee or caffeine or alcohol in my sway. Years and years ago when my migraines were very bad and I was having cat scans and on prescription meds for them I tracked my food and found a very clear link between caffeine and sugary drinks and my migraines or headaches. Not sure which it was since I didn't drink coffee and my caffeine only came in the form of Pepsi usually so I gave up both caffeine and other sugary drinks that didn't have caffeine (like sprite). My migraines nearly vanished after that. That is why not even for swaying would I take up caffeine.

Migraines are very hormonally based so whenever we alter our hormones it is possible. BUT that having been said, coffee and alcohol really can trigger them so this is what I'd look at first.
I have really terrible migraines and getting 3 in a week is not terribly unusual for me. never had a short LP!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Migraines?
I've actually noticed mine have stopped since switching to the traditional LE diet and adding sweets to my diet (which I never used to eat before). I think that stopping whole grains has helped for some reason. Possible because whole grains are "harder" for your body to digest. If you look at diets for people that have liver, kidney, or inflammatory diseases, they have you limit whole grains and add simple carbs from potatoes, white rice, and veggies instead.
I seriously used to get 3 a week. I have yet to have one since February. I also have stopped eating chocolate, or have very little of it. Instead, I have red licorice, fruit snacks, or fruit candies.
I have had auras though around ovulation or the start of AF, but I haven't had a migraine or a headache.

I know this is an older thread, but have a very out of place migraine this cycle (8DPO -- I usually get migraines smack dab in the middle of my period, like CD 2 or 3, and this has been a lifelong issue unless on BC or pregnant past the first trimester). I'm on HE, so a little concerned that this thread had LE swayers!
Is there anything sway safe to take or do once it's here? I'm hydrating, coldpack, migraine yoga, etc. They make me nauseated and unable to eat, which I don't want to do on HE!

Well the good news is that I got blue!
I normally drink meal replacements when I get migraines. Maybe not ideal, but maybe it could at least keep your calories and some nutrients up while you're feeling too sick to eat?

I have had very common/frequent migraines since I was in my 20's and got 3 boys that way.
Changing hormones = migraines (my last one, sorry for TMI, was right smack on the arrival of AF!) Changing hormones happens to all swayers regardless of what they're swaying for.
Personally I find ibuprofen works best for migraines. I know it is supposed to sway pink but one or two one day will not affect anything. I took them when I got my sons!!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Oh and I find that chocolate is strangely helpful. I am not sure why but it does seem to make a difference once I get one of the headaches.
